  • Witnessing the 2024 solar eclipse live was a once-in-a-lifetime experience -- and NBC 5 Storm Team Meteorologist Pete Sack didn't waste a moment of it.
    Sack, who was reporting live from Indianapolis at the time of totality, became emotional watching the historic moment.
    "It's totality. This is just amazing," he said through tears. "I can't believe I'm able to bring this to you."

    If you get emotional from an eclipse: GOOD
    preserve that sense of wonder. That sense of wonder is a key component of what makes humanity worth saving.

      Looking up at the sky from this small rock we call Earth, this awe inspiring event has really brought it home for some of us how tiny and insignificant we are in the greater scheme of the Universe. Cameras don't do it justice. It looked liked a giant glowing silver orb for the first couple of minutes of totality before looking like a black hole with a silver event horizon. The temperature dropped at least 10 degrees as it got dark. You could literally feel it.

      We will show them Our Signs in the universe, and in their ownselves, until it becomes manifest to them that this (the Quran) is the truth. Is it not sufficient in regard to your Lord that He is a Witness over all things?
      Abridged Explanation of the Quran
      I will show them My signs in the heavens and on earth.
      I will show them My signs within souls so that it will become clear to them without any doubt that this Qur’ān is the truth without any doubt.
      Is it not enough for these idolaters that the Qur’ān is true by Allah’s testimony that it is from Him? Who can be a greater witness than Allah? If they were seeking the truth they would have sufficed with the testimony of their Lord.

    @Allaiya. 5 місяців тому +5

    I was totally paranoid/scared of hurting my vision I barely looked at it, even during totality. Maybe like 10-20 seconds. Kinda regret it now bc what I saw was beautiful. Still, seeing it get dark and the planets was awesome.
    My dad kept saying he could see some red dot, my mom too, but I couldn’t. It all looked black and yellow/white to me.
    What stood out to me was how bright it was even if only a tiny, tiny portion of the sun was showing. So yeah, full totality absolutely matters. I get it now. A partial eclipse just isnt anywhere near the same level.
    Well lessons learned for next time. See ya all in 20-21 years!
