Josh Whedon's script is underrated by many fans - here it reveals that Natasha's greatest ability is not her vaunted hand-to-hand skills or even her beauty - it's her skill as an interrogator, both in this scene and her scene with Loki where she discerns his master plan.
IMHO Whedons only flaw in this movie was his writing around Captain America. He did much better in AOU but that was because he saw how the Russo Bros did the character in Winter Soldier.
You didn't even mentioned the way how she masters the secretaryship... 2:13

This reminds me the excitement leading up to the first Avengers movie. An excitement that started building since Nick Fury first mentioned the idea in Iron Man 1. Just seeing it come together was fantastic and the movie didn’t disappoint
I miss the excitement leading up to the MCU films, everything up to the first Avengers was magic.

There are very few directors that can add wit to a scene like Joss Whedon. The "I not give her everything..." sexual inuendo is brilliant. The current Marvel films destroy a moment with slapstick humour. Compare this scene to the terrible Captain Marvels interrogation.

A far higher number of non-native English-speaking people are willing to insult native English speaking people when they try to speak a foreign language than English speakers who will insult people trying to learn English. If most of the Polish people I work with were judged as harshly when they try to speak English, the critic would be accused of prejudice. With objectively small vocabulary, thick accent and very poor grasp of grammar, in a fair world the same could be said of a lot of people. Especially since English is such a widespread language. Lighten up.

The movie is of course fictionalized and just pure entertainment and still a family film even though it is rated PG-13.
