Hi Zach, congratulations on the pass! I just found this channel and quickly skimmed through your videos. Its very cool to watch your journey as I was in those same shoes about 5 years ago. Keep it up. Security is life long uphill battle of studying and learning so the key trait we always look for is Passion. If you have the passion for security you'll do well.
I actually passed my exam a few days ago. It was by a hair, but the score I got was still my highest “points wise” compared to what I scored on the A+ and Net+ exams. Out of all the exams I took, Network+ was the hardest for me. The Questions I got were insanely hard, but when I took Sec+ (Sy0-601) I didn’t struggle nearly as much. I think it’s just luck of the draw for what batch of questions you get. I honestly had a difficult time believing that I actually passed the Net+ exam when I did. The one thing I do recommend to improve your odds of passing is look up as many resources online that you can related to PBQs and study them. If you do really well on the PBQs you will have more leeway if you get more wrong on the multiple-choice part. I don’t know exactly how CompTIA grades these tests, but I honestly feel I did better on the PBQs part of the exams than I did on multiple choice. Anyway, best of luck to you guys in your studies!
Hi Zach. I really enjoy all that you share in this video. Very personal stuff from your soul (deep i mean). When you mentioned that you cried a little, i imagine that moment of joy coming from the dust, and how you decided to prepare again. And about how you take the best from the bad things, tells me a lot about the fighter that you are. I wish you the best in this path about cybersec because i really started to enjoy all about this topic, and my first step is Linux+ and then Sec+. i'll be tuned about this channel. Hope the best for you, here from Bogota, Colombia.
Failed the security+ exam after taking it the first time today.. I took the new sy0-701 exam, never have taken sy0-601 before. I practiced with professor messer’s notes and practice exams as well as cert master, I thought I was prepared enough but I wasn’t either. I have never failed a cert before this - I passed ITF+ and Cloud Essentials which are relatively entry level but I also passed the CCNA the first time around as well. Your video is exactly the motivation I needed. If I pass the second time should I go for CySA? I know it’s a lot harder..
I took the exam and failed today. I got 718 and the pass mark is 750. I had 20 questions to go with 5 minutes left. It was a battle for time all through. I didn't even get to review questions I flagged. I'm so upset about it. I'm taking your advise and taking the exam again. I'll be using more material this time.
I failed it but I’m going to write it again soon I went there not knowing some of the knowledge didn’t expect how’s it gonna go and instead of 62% I got 55%
Failed my A+ core 2 exam yesterday with a score of 680 out of 700 to pass. I feel hopeless honestly if I can’t pass the A+ studying for 3 months how am I going to cope with the harder certs in the future
Hi Fernando, It's okay to not succeed on your exam the first time (or other times after that) what's important is that you keep trying. If you have been studying for 3 months, maybe you aren't studying in the best way for how you learn. Are you taking practice exams? If so, are you looking at the areas you need to work on and allocating your study time to improve that? Look over how you are studying and ask yourself if the method is working. Best of luck in the next attempt!
@@LearnCyberSecurity I heavily neglected the practice exams and only took a couple. The main problem was taking far too long on each core exam as referring to Jason Dion, the best way to study is to learn fast and efficiently. Altogether equating to half a year for just an A+ certification is a bit prolonged and a mistake I’ve learnt and to rectify in the future.
Congratulations man! It is scares me to hear that someone as committed and experienced in IT as yourself failed the exam on the first try. At the same time it is motivating in itself that it isn't just a simple exam to be taken lightly and obtained by just anyone. I appreciate your honesty and I hope you continue to make more videos like these about how you go about your thinking/process.

Great work on you coming out and telling your failure (which is a win) because you learned! You are awesome!

I attempted the Secure+ back in March and didn't pass. Gonna try again later this year. It was a lot harder than I thought.

Did you do the IT pro tv premium or standard membership with the 7 days free? Did you study a week with that and then cancel?

Why did you stop using this channel?
Stop it. You are getting paid. 😂
