President Chakwera Tours Lilongwe City

CHAKWERA FOR ECONOMIC SELF-RELIANCE
His Excellency, Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, President of the Republic of Malawi, has urged the people of Malingunde in Lilongwe to continue working hard to economically develop their families.
President Chakwera made the remarks on Monday during a whistle stop tour and voter mobilization rally at Malingunde Trading Centre in Lilongwe.
Describing Malingunde as a bread basket, President Chakwera told the people that no - one will come to develop their families on their behalf.
Chakwera then advised the people to register in their large numbers to exercise their right to vote in next year's general elections.
Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Central Region Chairman Zebron Chilondola advised the people to register in their large numbers now and vote for President Chakwera.
Member of Parliament (MP) for Lilongwe South Peter Dimba said MCP is the only political party in the area.
"We are ready to register our names and vote for you in next year's general elections so that you continue developing Malawi," he said.
In his speech, Senior Chief Masumbankhunda hailed President Chakwera Chakwera for distributing relief food support to the people who are reeling from the effects of hunger.
