Since day 1 he showed everybody that he didnt give a F and was going to say whatever he wanted, and I have huge respect for people that are 100% true to themselves
This was the song that exploded him into the mainstream media and he never looked back. Guilty conscience came next off this album, then before you know it Dre released the chronic 2001 and everything went to another level! You need to watch the Up in Smoke tour video. Instant classic!
Man, here in Australia if I remember correctly it was "hi, my name is" and then "the way I am" We never got guilty conscience here but because I had the album Ioved that song anyway!!!
This is the clean version with altered lyrics. I can’t believe they even replaced vodka with kool aid in this 🤣 There is the uncensored album version and another version that is even crazier and was banned.
The fact that you're shocked by the censored version of this song says a lot. Imagine how shocked you'd be if you listened to the UN-censored version...
definitely check out the uncensored version - while there are some "blanks" and reverses in this version, he also had to change a LOT of the lyrics. Funny enough, this was the introduction to Eminem many of us heard and we still bought the CD. I an tell you, it was pretty shocking hearing the real words (and the rest of the album)
I remember when this came out. I was in my early 20s. I've never really been a rap fan but there something about him. Clever rhymes, and great beats. He's had a great career and he's a great artist.
This version is very watered down, you should def react to the fully uncensored version. Not only do they take out words but this is the 'radio friendly' alternative lyrics. The song came out in 1999, good times. Here is the 'Banned Uncensored Version': ua-cam.com/video/fB6elql_EdM/v-deo.html (Brace yourself lol)
Eminem was in another band called D12. My favorite song from them is “purple pills” my second favorite is “my band”The uncensored name of that song is “purple hills”. Here’s a link to the unedited version of “purple pills” if you’d like to check it out. ua-cam.com/video/uI9-29R95G8/v-deo.html
Well, he did say God sent him to piss the world off in the original version of the song, and he accomplished that mission. This is the cleaned up version and they even beeped a lot of this out. 😊 You really need to listen to the banned uncensored version to fully appreciate how irreverent this introduction was.
I remember when this came out when I was in 8th grade in 98/99 , I had the ad for the album on my wall from The Source magazine, I first heard Em on the track F Off with Kid Rock on the movie Strangeland and Anthem 99
This brought back memories. Holy crap the amount of 'think of the children!' when this dropped was insane. Take a look at 'Pretty Fly (For a white guy)' by Offspring. The music video still makes me laugh.
He said " So I signed it dear Dave thanks for the support asshole" it is really not even that bad. Just look for the unedited versions when it comes to Eminem.
Em did a great job with this. The original is even more crazy, but he somehow found a medium where it could be played on TV and still make people go "wait what the fuck?".
Yeah, he tells you flat out what he thinks. He does not have a filter and I LOVE this man. He is my fav! You should try Superman from him. Eminem, spits very fast in Rap God too. Another group you should try if you haven’t is Beastie Boys, Fight for your right to party.
Hey Jayvee, can you please react to The Darkness - I Believe In A Thing Called Love??? A couple of other great The Darkness songs to react to would be - Get Your Hands Off My Woman And - Givin Up.
This was his introduction song to the main stream. Back then I didn't like a lot of Rap. Bumped my head to a few but he showed up and everyone was like what the hell is this. Some loved it(me) some hated it(the media, parents, etc.) But he would just say stuff to piss everyone off and did it in a way we hadn't heard with the beats and the way he did the lyrics and syllables. It's crazy to look back and think about hearing this back then and not having any idea he would be The Rap God but feeling like it even back then.
Should have listened to unedited version, he definitely says what he wants there
thanks for saying this
Or the banned version thats even better.
When anyone in my family says "what?" we all do the scratch and say "Slim Shady"! 🤣
Since day 1 he showed everybody that he didnt give a F and was going to say whatever he wanted, and I have huge respect for people that are 100% true to themselves
Anyone can do that. Without talent it means nothing.
Yeah Em don’t care. He caused SO much controversy when he came out 🤣
The unedited version is better.
Yes, definitely look for the unedited one. It's brutal!
He says whatever he wants. No boundaries. He’s a genius at putting words together that you wouldn’t think would work but they do.
Man that takes me back into the 2000s when I was a kid
Another one that takes me back is Can I Get A What What by Jay-Z,or Hard Knock Life.
Ya the staking rink ha.
This was the first Eminem song I ever heard. Loved it back then and still do today.
This was the song that exploded him into the mainstream media and he never looked back. Guilty conscience came next off this album, then before you know it Dre released the chronic 2001 and everything went to another level! You need to watch the Up in Smoke tour video. Instant classic!

Hard to believe that this is over 20 years old. He smashed his way into rap and dominated it from that point forward.
Oh, and he said “Thanks for the support, a**hole” lmao
This is the clean version with altered lyrics. I can’t believe they even replaced vodka with kool aid in this 🤣
There is the uncensored album version and another version that is even crazier and was banned.
This is plagiarism.
@@mariogmajner6549 it’s called a sample and it’s in the credits 🙄

I feel the same. I don't pay attention to rap, but Eminem is unique.
Eminems first song and video. I remember thinking this is so weird and that this guy probably wont make it. I was wrong 😂

Always listen to the explicit album cut first, then watch the video. 98% of each his videos couldn't be aired on MTV.
Wow, this is so tame when you’re used to the uncensored version 😂

Heard it in High School MFs. Classic hit.
Rookie move, bro. Uncensored always!
He always went in lol. Survival of the fittest. He's def. aa G.O.A.T, imo. Love him or hate him he is Genius.
Rakim is the GOAT 👍
This is my favorite song of his. This is back before I realized he was a lyric master.......

Great song to introduce yourself to the world. Original.

Hey @JayveeTV love your reactions!
But plz make another reactions with the uncensored version :)
Really a lot is different
That's what music is about make music U want! Not want ppl want to hear UR THE ARTIST
He came out tha gate up in everybody's face not caring.
There's 3 versions of this song. Uncensored and fucking filthy
You really need to hear all his stuff uncensored. Just look up uncensored from now on. You'll like it more.
Good song Jay 🌹🌹🥰
Another classic banger.
Ah man I was in love with this song! Hahahaha
I love Em 🐐
BANGER 👍❤️
This brought back memories. Holy crap the amount of 'think of the children!' when this dropped was insane.
Take a look at 'Pretty Fly (For a white guy)' by Offspring. The music video still makes me laugh.
He is the master of Rap👍👍👍
It’s interesting that the lyrics are 50% different in this clean version
50%
People who have ‘no filter’ are the most honest 👍🏼 love it 😁
Holy shit!
You should review Labi Siffre - I Got The Blues. That's where the hook for "My Name Is" came from, and Labi's song is a true 70's soul classic.
Eminem-When Im Gone Eminem-Mockingbird Eminem ft. Halsey-WHY NOT NOW? (Official Video) ft. G-Eazy Nas-EPMD 2 feat. Eminem & EPMD D12-My Band

😍❤️
I LOVE Eminem ❤️❤️- however I do miss Slim Shady!!
he done this on his meeting with dre when they were messing about and introducing eachother
When he did this live there was like a hundred Eminem’s with him
Em did a great job with this. The original is even more crazy, but he somehow found a medium where it could be played on TV and still make people go "wait what the fuck?".
The music used on this is from a song called I got the by Labi Safire played by Chas and Dave
I think this was his first big hit
You need to listen to the uncensored version.
How does one simply not know this song?
YEAH! Finally first comment! Hey guys! Love this content!
Gotta do the unedited one man
This was his first banger! 🔥🔥🔥
Outrageous but fun 🤷🏻♀️😜
Oh man Im dissapointed he didnt get the Monica Lewinsky Bill Clinton reference at the end that was so funmy
Ikr?!
This is a Masterpiece 🔥❤ #eminemforever ❤❤❤
Dr Dre did the beat 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yeah, he tells you flat out what he thinks. He does not have a filter and I LOVE this man. He is my fav! You should try Superman from him. Eminem, spits very fast in Rap God too. Another group you should try if you haven’t is Beastie Boys, Fight for your right to party.
The uncensored version is high art.
Completely changed the rap game up at the time.
Should listen to the explicit version, even better
Even today, he has zero effs to give.🙌
Damn! The beginning!
How have you never heard this???
Guilty Conscience
You should react to ‘Cleaning Out My Closet’
👏😂👏🤣 You haven't fully arrived til Eminem puts you in a dis track!
Not only is it censored, but he changed a lot of the words as well to clean it up even more for radio.
🎶🎶🎶🎶💯👍
Give 'Grace Kelly' by Mika a go.
He said "Dear Dave Thanks for the support asshole👌"
He was great back then. So entertaining.
Yeah check out the uncensored version. It’s a lot different.
You should do Dr Dre "Some LA Niggaz" and "The Watcher" both are on the Chronic 2001 album.. That whole album is a vibe, nothin but bangers.
👍👍👍
uncensored version when it comes to em.
And to think, this is the "censored" version. Lol.
You should check out the original song this was sampled from… Labi Siffre - I got the
I've never heard this version, it's good but the uncensored version just seems a lot better to me
5:10 “Thanks for the support asshole”
Is this song really this old or am I just fkn ancient
His first hit. Read about his first encounter with Dr Dre...
Yo! There is NO WAY you can do a "song reaction" of a clean version of an Eminem song. Come on Mr. Jayvee you can do better
Dude
We should only ever hear the uncut version
React to the "Uncensored" version
Watching this in 3rd grade was life changing. My friend wasn’t the best influence but it was a great time
the explicit version
This was Slim Shady
🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hey Jayvee, can you please react to The Darkness - I Believe In A Thing Called Love???
A couple of other great The Darkness songs to react to would be
- Get Your Hands Off My Woman
And
- Givin Up.
The end looks like Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky
He is brilliant! I hate when they censor. Wrecks the song.
PLEASE REACT TO EMINEM- SING FOR THE MOMENT
You should listen to The Ringer by Eminem
I used to be scared of this song at night before bed
Why 🤣
I was 5 the puppet and Marilyn Manson creeped me out for some reason
@@mariogmajner6549 ok.....?
@@derekknowles5805 haha fair enough

Do the unedited version if you really want to hear what he had to say! Sorry I cant finish watching the video because this is not the actual song!
