Something I truly appreciate about you is that you have no qualms in informing us of what the samples are that you use. You ear is off the chain when you pick them too.
I couldn't find it on UA-cam, Discogs, or Soulseek. I think it's misnamed or misspelled, or maybe he just made it up. Wouldn't be the first time a producer kept his cards to his vest.

question...why is that important that he tell or show you what the sample is.. with all we have at our access, you dont think you could find it? or.. maybe.. just maybe.. understand the concept of boom bap producers dont like telling/showing samples for biting reasons.. but at the same time these are meant as tutorials..so i guess its cool but i just dont understand why so many of yall need ya hand held..

Where do u get these samples bro?
Where you get your drum sounds mostly? I'm sure u get them all over. But what's the best place to get em in your opinion? For these type of beats at least? I love all your content btw. You've taught me alot.
A few weeks ago I bought the DJ Khalil Artist Expansion from Native Instruments. I ended up not getting a Maschine. But it has all the sounds in WAV so I made packs out of them for the MPC One I just bought. Crazy crazy drums, It has 20+ different kits in it, lots of fire shit. Look it up on YT there are videos where you can listen to all the sounds.
Okay word. I'll do that. I got splice and arcade too so I can get plenty on there. And I just bought the producer growth kit. Bcuz they had dopeeee samples and drums. Which I watched a video on too. But thanks homie. I'll check that out.
I also don't have an mpc or machine. I use FL studio 20 all plugins edition and I have an Auturia Keylab 61 Key midi keyboard. But I'm sure the sounds will work like you said just gotta make packs and load em up.
I usually go for drum broker & aj hall.

Made a track at 165pm, then a version of it at around 85 - had a nice "drag/sludge" I don't think CREATING it at "85bpm" would've but why?

@@jaminmills4508 Educated guess: Not zooming in to "16/32" markers, especially if you build primarily in "arrangement view".
So you deal with 1, 2, 3 4 instead of 1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3, 1.1,4, 1.2, 1.2.2 etc etc
Probably helps with hi-hats too: "1&2&3&4&" (8 taps) instead of "1, 2, 3, 4" (4 taps)
In session, tempo holds true - so if you build at 90bpm and speed that up to 180, it'll sound faster/like "drum & bass", as there are more "hits" happening in a shorter time span p
Yeah "building in arrangement view, mostly with one shots, to avoid zooming in/out often".
I use double time because hearing the metronome in the speed puts my mind in a zone that allows me to get that bounce. Single time is toooo slow for me. Lol, I like my head knocking when i’m cooking up. 💯
