Everyone Needs An Allen! Love the video but where I can find the belt??? I can’t find it anywhere.
I could not find the belt anywhere. I ended up going to the junk yard and found one on a similar make model. Please post back in here if you do find we were to purchase one. Others are asking too.
Great job, where you find this dust cover?
Try shopping around on ebay, This recently happened to me and I couldn’t find anything anywhere. However I searched on ebay for the entire assembly and just asked around if they where willing to sell me just the piece I needed, most said no but one guy was willing to sell it to me and I ended up paying 22 bucks for it after fees and shipped to my door.
I couldn't find anywhere to purchase it. I would love for you or anyone else that finds one to post it here if you find one to purchase online. Many are looking for it.
Since you have to buy the entire casing for that 1 simple piece what did you use instead? Mine needs replaced
I could not find the strip for purchase either so I went to my local auto salvage yard and found a replacement strip from another car. Takes the same process to get the strip out of the donor car as this video. Just do the research on if the yard has the right vehicle and grab your tools and go.
nice... take it all the way apart and clean the graphite off the selector break points. Thank me later
Is there a link to where this cover replacement can be purchased.
I couldn't find anywhere to purchase it. I would love for you to post it here if you find one to purchase online.
Where I can find the New strip against dust to replace old broken? What 's nr code of the piece? Can you suggest me where I can Buy it? Tutorial really complete ad clean good job.
I was unable to find it. Let me know if you find it and please post it in a comment here on the site because many others are looking for it also. Thanks
Came here to ask if anyone found where to buy it? Mine just broke from the bottom part (it's completely exposed when on Park) and it's driving me crazy
great video! so mine just broke and that middle piece of the dust guard itself that wraps around the shifter is still attached and causing it to be very stubborn when shifting. should i remove that until i can find a new guard?
I would remove the piece if it’s getting in the way. It could also cause the shift lever to not fully seat in the desired gear and pop out of your driving.
@@allenrensel5368 I have just bought a 2012 overland and is getting stuck in 1st. Gear I'm guessing module circuit board need to clean as a giess
Sorry, I'm not aware of the 2012 Overland but if it's electronic shifting, I would start at cleaning down in the shifter assembly and circuit board assembly first. Good luck.
This just happened to me. I removed the piece you speak of and it works like a champ. Now I'm looking for the replacement part.
Hey man, any info on how to get those bottom screws out for the 4x4 model?
Any info? Have the same issue and am concerned about dropping the screws into the shifting mechanism

I believe it's called the shifter slide cover. If you find a place to buy it, please post it here as many people have asked where to find it. Thanks for watching.
Where did you get the new dust cover????.....
Shop around on ebay, this recently happened to me and just searched for the entire assembly and asked around if they would sell me just that piece. Eventually one guy gave in and I ended up paying around 20 bucks. All this within a week from when i broke it
I couldn't find anywhere to purchase it. I would love for you or anyone else that finds one to post it here if you find one to purchase online. Many are looking for it.
So how do I get the entire deal off a lighter fell down there and I can feel it bump when I change gears ?
I didn't go that far to taking this one off. I recommend that you do additional searches for taking the console off. I did a quick one and found an example like this. ua-cam.com/video/0rMo72Gssx8/v-deo.html Hope it helps.
@@everyoneneedsanallen4463 I was able to get it off and the lighter out but thanks a bunch man
I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.7 liter V6 and the problem I'm having with it is it won't go in reverse it only goes forward and I don't know if it's the transmission control unit or the shift interlock module has anybody else had this problem with their Jeep it only go forward the weird thing is it goes forward in neutral reverse and drive but it will go in park?
Does anyone know the exact measurements of this shifter sliding dust cover ? Width ? Length ? Thickness ? (measured with a dial or digital caliper in SAE or Metric would be nice) :-)
I do not, sorry. Sounds like a great idea to just make one if you can’t find one.
