Olivia has worked long and hard to achieve this level of play. Orfi has the benefits of learning from some of the best in the world. Did I mention it doesn't hurt to have the "master of the drop", coaching you. Skål from Sweden Rodney!
Cannot believe this kid is just 17. The talent is there. Not sure I’d have rushed her on to the pro tour so early - I hope her team can help her keep these beatings in the proper perspective.
The referees in this tournament have apparently been given a directive by PSA to downgrade whenever possible a Stroke to a Let and a Let to a No Let. This ref in particular applies the directive with a dogmatic blindness that has quietly infuriated many of the players. The directive includes shutting down the players efforts to explain their arguments.
I’d like to think the new Refereeing is preparation for the 2028 Summer Olympics. If PSA players present themselves and our sport to the world as whining primadonnas crying about every ruling then squash is finished.
I actually thought that the Stroke at 9-8 was absolutely bonkers, at the very best to me it was a very tiny let. In general I actually agree with too many Strokes being given these days, mostly because of the silly re-definition of a Stroke so that way too much subjective judgment is in it now. I also agree that players should not 'explain their arguments', there should be as little discussion as possible as it completely kills the game. Not only for the Olympics, but at any time or tournament.
It appears Weaver intentionally kept Orfi back to neutralize any potential “interference” which the referees can underestimate. I hope Orfi’s game matures towards better clearance and focuses on her amazing talents.
Superb performance by Weaver !! Absolutely flawless!! Orfi is an incredible player so to beat her in 3 is highly impressive...i dont like the way the referees shut down the players as soon as they speak...just let them express their thoughts
Well done, Olivia!
41:08 how did she think she hit a winner…Great match by Weaver!
Well that was fast. No chance for Orfi. Weaver has definitely upped her game a lot in the last months.

You’re absolutely on right track my dear friend, just to make more money in this game, players are given a free run to hurt each other unintentionally

Weaver, for one, did her homework on Orfi. She studied the film to devise a game plan and rammed it down Orfi’s throat. That’s professionalism.
