Despite your attempts, the heaviness took over and the tears sprang to life. Once your lids fell close, the memory came back as if to attack the wounds in your soul.
His hands intertwined with yours.
Him smelling the scent of your hair, securing a necklace.
Him feeding you.
Him grinning brighter than the sun.
You sobbed and didn’t stop. Not until it was time to soak it all again. It was over. Officially.
