In a sane world his passing should have been on page one of every newspaper in the West. RIP.

That is devastating....we needed this person for at least another ten years to continue his work.

I loved his dry humour, his brilliant mind and his love for beauty and goodness. He also had a great head of hair. R.I.P. He will be sorely missed.

What a eloquent way to State the institutions of our country how they've deteriorated. I especially like the part where he was talking about women studies at University.

His voice will be missed - it is so needed in this political climate of manufactured moral panic and postmodernists intersections intellectual bankruptcy.

The intersectionalist project, when it has run its full course, will have atomized the nation down the level of the individual, which is where the rest of us STARTED. But the damage they do catching up, busily re-inventing the wheel, and "discovering" yet another subset of a subset of a subset of an oppressed group...

Oh! I'm only finding out about his death now, four days later, kind of like with Neil Peart. 2020 is having a rough start. R.I.P.

He also gave a wonderful lecture at an Art and Architecture CCA, probably 2011? I'd love to listen to that one again!

The Guardian comments on Roger Scruton are disgraceful. If there are any bigoted people in the world they work for the Guardian!

I want to say a heartfelt, sorry. At University he was demonised as a bigotted right-wing bigot. Years later I came to wonder at his brilliant mind, calm measure approach and belief in all things British that entranced me. I will miss him as a window to the world. God bless.

I see how it is. You turn off the comments to controversial garbage you post. Probably because you don't want to hear the real facts. Doesn't surprise me.
