Great vid bro! One of my GH5’s broke yesterday. Thinking about either buying another or R6. Can the R6 and GH5 look similar to one another or a viewer will definitely tell u shot on 2 cameras. Could u do a video on color grading c-log and v-log on it. Even just two similar profiles. Great work. Subgang
Yo! Thanks a lot brother! anyways, I'm sorry about ur gh5. Personally, if ur mainly shooting videos and you don't mind the AF on the GH5, I would just get another GH5 for cheap. But if you already use Fullframe EF lenses and you wanna take photos more seriously(which was my reason), I would buy an R6. Especially now that it supports Dual Card Recording and CLOG 3 is really really really good too. And with 10bit nowadays you can definitely shot match them forsure! Hope this helps! What’s ibis like with a longer lens ? I can handhold my gh5 and 100-400mm at 400mm no problem. I’m very tempted to go canon r5 and 100-500mm but if it’s wobbling all over the shop at 500mm I would cry
The R6/R5 is the closest IBIS I could find that’s close or even matches the Gh5’s. Just like the GH5, it wobbles in the ultrawide end, but not a slight of it at 35mm and longer. I’ve handheld at 200mm with the 4K crop with no problem. Haven’t tried the 100-500 but I’d pressume you’ll get amazing results since most RF glass have IS in them. You won’t regret it. It’s the closest full-frame to the GH5, + 10bit at 4k60 and C-log3 is amazing.
Sorry, but having to stop filming to let the camera cool down every twenty to thirty minutes, is the main reason why the Canon R6 is not a very good solution for me, and that is from personal experience. However, loving the GH5II, even the AF is way better, and I am not even using Lumix or Leica lenses… As for low light, never had a problem, especially when using f1.2 lenses… …
I completely agree with you if you’re primarily a video person. Not that you can’t use the GH cameras for photos, but if 80% of my work is photography these days, which I mentioned in the video, then it’s a no brainer to switch to the R6. Otherwise, if I was primarily doing video, I was doing perfectly fine with my Panasonic. And agreed, lowlight is not as bad, especially I light everything and speedboosters are a thing. 🙌🏼

Internally no, only when recording externally. The GH5 is superior in that regard. Tho if ur only shooting with one camera, it shouldn’t be an issue. Only when you have to leave it while recording.

I ended up picking up an R6 a couple months back and love it, overheating isn't ideal, especially shooting weddings on the hot Canadian summer days; I did find a cooler quite helpful in that regard though haha. The 1080/120 and 4K/60 are brilliant though, I'm very impressed, not to mention the photo experience.

@@AlCaldejon I'm seeing mentions of the Tilta Coolers so I can see how what I mentioned was confused haha, I actually had a water cooler with ice packs inside to keep drinks cold and tossed the R6 in there driving between locations haha. I'm super pumped to see some feedback on the Tilta Cooler though, it would be well worth the price if it proves effective.
Hahaha. It really is such an amazing upgrade. Though don't get me wrong, it pained me to sell my gh5 cause I still feel like it was a more powerful video camera over all. I probably wouldn't have sold it if I could afford having both. 😪😂 btw, that's a nice setup! How's af with the 16mm? I heard its nice.
Idk, I have an a6300 right now and I want to upgrade. I'm still figuring out which camera to buy and if the a7iii is worth it over the a6600. Or wait some longer for the a7IV or get an a7SIII

Haha good joke. I would never trade my gh5 for the canon heatmachine. R6 has terrible yellowish colors, maybe this suits asians but me as caucasian does not need this. If i want an upgrade from the gh5 i buy a s5
lol I hope you didn't mean to sound racial at all, but color grading is one skill you need to learn. I mean the GH5 has good colors, but I wouldnt say its better than Canon's. lol

There are denoise pptions in pp which uou can reduce the noise. I have used canon r6 but after using it i feel its bit overrated.
