    I made the same setup but trying to recover refrigerant compressor keeps locking up and trips the internal breaker. It can do vacuum perfectly goes to 30” and builds pressure over 450 psi. But when trying to recover refrigerant it shuts off.

    You know you said you can't release refrigerant into the air..... I agree with this. BUT, every HVAC tech does it every time they connects gauges and recovers slash AC work. And all these new gasses "claim" to be safe for the atmosphere.

    A pretty good video. You forgot to mention to purge the lines at the recovery tank and close off the Manifold High Pressure line not being used. However I learned enough to know how to build one now. I would also have liked to know what port you were tapping on the Refrigerator Compressor. Thanks so much for doing this video. Thumbs up! A compressor uses oil in the refrigerant for lubrication and the compressor will have limited life without oil. The object is to liquify the refrigerant and compressing it will make it hot. You need to cool the output to condense it to a liquid. You also need a filter-dryer before the compressor to protect and clean the compressor and make the refrigerant reusable.

    Hi. I have a question. Can i make a vacuum with this pump ? I not have a special pump to do this. I would like to suck all air from the system. I mean system in fridge of course. System in the fridge have fe pump, condenser, vaponiser, dryer filter, pipes, capillary tube and other elements. Thanks for help.

    • @appliancerepair420

      For refrigerator the size is 1/4. Not sure on ac. I think for example mini splits with 410a are 5/16. But not sure. Amazon is a good place to get them

      @@appliancerepair420 Thank you for the reply! You were right. 1/4 inch. I found Pack of (6) C&D Valve # CD3605-1/4" Access/Line Service Valve with 5/16" Copper Tube Extension so I only need to braze or silver solder the copper pipes together. I just need to find an old window AC to pull the compressor out of. I have a couple old non working refrigerators that that I use as fireworks storage lockers but I don't think those compressors would be large enough. They will run, just don't cool anymore so make a good sealed storage locker.

    • @appliancerepair420
      @appliancerepair420  3 роки тому +1

      The bigger the compressor the mor suction power you have. This is meant for smaller appliances like refrigerators. You should use it on the same type of refrigerant that the compressor had example 134a because it might contaminate the pump and might go bad.

    It needs to vacuum and gets rid of air in the pipe for blue, yellow, red, and compressor itself, at least. Otherwise, air is get into freon tank and pollutes pure freon in the tank. I recommend the commercial one, not your idea.

    • @appliancerepair420
      @appliancerepair420  2 роки тому +3

      The one on the left is the port to install the service valve for charging and to check pressures. The Smaller one (high side) is the discharge line that one pumps the refrigerant into the condenser. The fatter one in the back is the suction line (low side) it sucks the refrigerant back to the compressor from the evaporator. Hope this helps
