Hearing how the andals and the first men (and meybe the iron born) got into westeross and started to try to conquer all, knowing how the Targaryen tried to unite westeros through conquest and now hearing about the dothraki and the stallion that mounts the world uniting on his kalasar I'm starting to believe that many of not all prophetic dreams say something "must unite all" or "everything must become one under a single leader" and the ones hearing the prophecy just interpret it as: I'm destined to rule all completely missing the point of uniting as a single front vs the others.
I think the prophecy is a trogan horse. What real prophet wants to be chosen? None! I have visions and am psychic. People covet me “gift”. I don’t flash it as a trick for others either. They don’t find out till they need to. It’s not a gift. It’s a curse. If God told me that I was going to lead the world, I would beg him to spare me. I’m dead serious. I’m a natural born leader and led men during war. I’m a woman. They chose me to lead them. I’m a master strategist and can calculate calculus in my mind, and see multiple approaches and coordinate them like a conductor. That’s all great, but the failures are mine (death of my men), along with the successes. You live with it and it changes you. I’ve witnessed many that thought a mere woman was unqualified to lead an elite team, let alone command an entire battalion. I also lead an elite female team of assassins. We took out an entire enemy strong hold. Nobody is looking for a woman in a burka. The same trick used on us, sending women and children to soldiers, worked for us too. I had a perfect success rate, but I did things I can never forget. So, anyone seeking glory like this is a psychopath. I’ve met many in my lifetime. The prophecy is the union of the people, it’s not about one person that lead them all. It’s multiple leaders coming together to unite the people and rally them to work together and trust each other. One person alone cannot do it all.
I love that you make me notice stuff I hadn't before. The Spider vs Serpent is indeed very common and idk why I hadn't noted it before, especially when there is a character named THE SPIDER.
I just came to the same realisation 🤔 One could also include the idea of the Others "riding on packs of pale spiders, as big as hounds" as more symbolic/visual references to this idea. George loves the bold symbolism of light and dark, good and evil, but also creates ambiguity between the two with characters and visual connotations dotted throughout the story.
I wonder if we will see something of spy battle between Varys and Sand Snakes. It seems that they have a common goal in undermining Lannisters but it is just too good to be. More likely that Arianne marries Faegon but Spider kills several of her favorite cousins.
I love how you're able to pick up these details and seemlessly fit them into a broader theory and lore; a skill not many theorists in this fandom have. Looking forward to the rest of AA videos, my next upload will be about AA as well. >:)
Thank you for making this video! It's full of theories and ideas which are so often overlooked. In fact, it's a real shame that the Sarnoni history is so often ignored, especially when one considers the most similarity related to the name of the "Prince Who Was Promised" is undoubtedly Azor Ahai and Huzhor Amai.
Even in the Rhoynar myths there is a reference to a war between a Crab king and a Turtle god. In this case the turtle would represent the reptilian side, while the crab would represent the spider because of its legs. So in the present day, if Dany's dragons obviously represent the reptile, who will reinterpret the role of the spider? Maybe Euron because of the Kraken symbol, or maybe the Iron Throne because of its sharp-armed shape? I am inclined to believe that it will be the weirwoods. Saludos.
I think it's the others and the spiders because the Weirwoods' roots are described as net, yes, but they are also described as snakes. They are red and white, I think they are the middle ground. I also LOVE the Rhoynish myth so much. The fact that they sang together to end the conflict is just 🤌🏻🤌🏻
So Valyria had a partnership with Sarnor...(Strokes beard)...my new headcanon is that dark skinned Valyrians like we see in House of the Dragon are the admixtures of Sanori Nobility and Valyrians
Easily. Actually considering that the Velaryons were not even dragonlords, just Valyrians, 100% people were getting married to people from all over the place
While we don't have a physicial description of the Sarnori, considering their neighbours and cultural inspirations I higly doubt they would have black skin, probably more of a copper skin and/or middle eastern-like appearance. Its way more likely that the Velaryons got their phenotype by marring with Summer Islanders since they are known as the best shipbuilders and navigators of the world, which would be extremely helpful for a seafaring family.
@@yurinabesima The Velaryons definitely are closest to summer islanders, but having non-blonde, non-dragonlords, because of intermarriage, Valyrians makes sense. Even in the rest of the free cities, the archons have Valyrian blood. From the info, we get the Sarnori to me sound like quite tall, since they are called tall men, dothraki/rhoynar people
I'm not disagreeing for the most part. Well described. My issue is that so many seem to want a single figure. "The prophecy is for (single person)." I'm not disagreeing that these apply to them, just that it's supposed to apply to one person. You could make a similar analysis for the Driftwood and the KBtW. The desire to unite Westeros for Aegon is also similar. My main issue is that most are expecting a single narrative. I'm not ruling out the possibility they will consolidate, but I don't want to assume it's the only option. There were 5 names for the hero of legend, we have the war of the 5 kings, and the five dwarves in the HotU. I think there are five people to whom this pattern in the story applies. So I don't think you're wrong about it applying to Dany, just about her narrative as one side of a single over arching one. Though I do concede there is a chance the story will seek to unite the 5. The difference is, five people will do a version of what Dany does. So trying to identify who main opponent will be is probably wrong. For example, as a Kraken that mounts the world, Euron good or bad will do something similar but as unique to him any other current or myth unifier. As will a unifier under the KBtW or North and Rivers. Stannis is basically making the Sarnori mistake, attempting to use the Wildlings the same way the Sarnori used the Dothraki. Will the 5 fight a hero battle royale? I don't know. However, I think how we predict the story will play out is being warped by the desire to force it into one good lead vs one bad lead. One aspect of the story I think gets ignored is the dynamic of a moderating force. The people of the bone mountains keep two things apart. The Marcher lords keep Dorne and the Reach apart (mostly). And the Wall does something similar. There must be something that on a theme level attempts to keep the spider and serpent apart. Something that sometimes breaks down and a massive conflict resuts. I think it's this aspect that's overlooked even in the history of the story.
I was feeling really blu so this video was perfect timing. Thank you for consistently making great content. I hope you had a great weekend. Best wishes always. 🤍
Keep in mind that you're a radiant being. 🙂 Not in a new-agey sense but rather that what we call "heat" the universe calls "light." You are making the universe more vibrant even when being treated badly and/or making mistakes. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
I just found your channel a few weeks ago and just subscribed. I think The Bloodstone Emperor and The Nights King are the same story like Gilgamesh and Noah what are your thoughts on that?
I have the feeling that the Dothraki end of days myth is just that, things go through cycles of creation and destruction, the longest one is that of the world. Like Norse myth. "The Gods made this space and time, but Ragnarök will come eventually, meanwhile HEROES, and BRAVE DEEDS are so very cool amma rite??"!
If someone wanted to share a theory with you, what would be the best way to get it to you? I'm a bit new to learning about ASoIaF deep-lore, and want to see if someone more well read can identify problems with an idea I have, or if its already been discussed by the community before.
In General, I don't think that Rhollor or Azor are Evil in General, Evil is always in the Eye of the beholder. Someone like Daenerys who ends the Way of Life as it was in Slavers Bay, is the Evil Queen for most of the slavers, but the Messiah-Figure for the Slaves. But it is always about balance, the Dragons literally came from a place that was called the Land of Always Summer and neither a neverending Summer nor a neverending winter is good for the environment. All this Story is about is Balance and Danerys as Azor Ahai brings an unbalance towards Fire and Light, but what about the Night? When will people sleep? So yes she will be a Messiah-Saviour for many People and unite many People, but she is not the solution to all Problems, we all know how too much Sunlight and insufficient Rain will destroy Nature and create desolate Landscapes. So yes Daenerys is Azor Ahai, but she is not the perfect solution to the Problems this Story has. She is not good with Compromises, not good with managing a Country and trading with People, especially when the People need Food and Warmth during the upcoming Winter, she will struggle a lot. The solution to these problems is to build lasting relations with the People around you so that they will work together during Winter and after Winter. The Solution are the Starks, like Sansa and her Connections to the Southern Lords, especially the Vale and the Riverlands, Jon with his Connection to the Iron Bank, the Wildlings and Sam, Bran/Rikkon with his Position as new Lord of Winterfell and Arya with her Connections and understanding of the Small Folk and her Connections to Bravoos. The Stark fight when necessary and talk when needed. when different Factions work together they create something lasting something strong, which is a riddle to the People like the Targaryens/the Lannisters who rule through fear and that is the Riddle of the Sphinx, at least for me.
Like all of my videos, there are captions!
I do like all of your videos, though not specifically because of the captions.
