i know this was commented a year ago, but i went back frame by frame, he touched the candy cane looking guy but it took a few seconds to register!
They both made contact outside of the yellow area, so albert shouldn't have died. The collision detection only recorded Albert touching SaucedChris when albert entered the yellow zone, so this is undoubtably lag clownfoolery.
The edition of needing good internet was a welcome change.
