That energy... All that situation... the anger, the love... Perfection.
+Arthur Tavares
Lemon trees seldom reveal the true nature of their chicken pot pie.
Superb! Gets me going every time! Well done, the Dropkicks! Solidarity from Wales.
How great is this song.
Against the famine and the Crown.
And they went to America, Canada, and Australia and made those countries great!
Lots of love and respect to Irish people from Italy
What a performance! Never heard this version before. Absolutely brilliant. Blew me away totally.
WHAT POWER. This performance of a sentimental ballad into and anthem of anger and resistance transcends being Catholic Boston Irish. It becomes every ethnicities and races of way of saying "We Will Not Be Held Down." "Avanti Popolo."
I'm so glad I am old enough to remember "Punk" and happier that I'm young enough to enjoy it
I love this song. This is the best. Kind of a mix of Dubliners and Social Distortion. My family came from Tuam, Galway in 1842. My Castle is near there. : ) My step father was from Southie. I'm from N. Chicago. A long way from!
Greetings from America 🗽🇺🇸
Love from Dublin to County Boston.
If this is what it takes for a new generation to listen to traditional music, so be it.
I love my traditional music but this I definitely can listen to. Thanks Murphys.
I am spannish and this got me to tears everytime
We listened to this today in my Human Geo. class to compare popular culture to folk culture (we also listened to The Dubliners) so today was a good day
Greeting from Indonesia!!
I don't care what anybody says. I LIKE IT! After a couple of pints, even better.
Dropkick Murphys are a great American band
An enjoyable bunch of Yanks who obviously enjoy the "Craic" & support of their🤔 American/Irish-American🤔 supportive enterourage🙄 indulging in the.. "Sex-Pistolish".. rendering of this jewel of a song best performed in it's heartrending delivery by the mighty
"PADDY RILEY" & as always voiced in hair-raising fashion by all "Irish Rugby Fans" in "Fortress Aviva" or any other stadium...
Sorry "Dropkicks" but only the post Covid, fan filled Stadium of Stade de France/Paris will totally outshine yer performance by the travelling..
"IRISH CONTINGENTS"... singing their hearts out with..
"The Fields Of Athenry"...
to totally drown out the opposing French Connections & their bombastic rendition of.......
"La Marseillaise"...
French throats don't have the same stamina or staying power of "Paddy's" when it comes to a great historic song which doesn't,.. encourage drinking mugs of the opponents blood..in the lyrics of it's anthem... certainly not when there's "Pints Of Guinness" always available...near hand... to fortify the..."Boys In Green"...be they "Fans or Team"...
SO...
Pardon Mesdames et Messieurs but prepare to have your..."Les Bleus" Gallic Arses.. kicked into touch by the "Gaelic" Irish boys in Green at the.. "Stade de France" Paris tomorrow ....then watch as we go on to win the..
"6 NationsGrand Slam" 2022.

Best version of this song!
I Love!
We had a tavern / bar / pub in the part of Metro Nashville where I live with this name. I know now where its name came from !
I'm Irish too good 🇮🇪🇮🇪
Brilliant
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
To all those saying you must be born in Ireland to be Irish, well, we the children of the diaspora prefer to keep the Ould Sod in our hearts and memories. And this is a perfect song for it, one to remind a people that they were scattered amongst the world against their will or due to desperation. To quote Flogging Molly:
Genuflect all you refugees who fled the land
Now on guilt you kneel
And say a prayer for those left behind
From beyond the pale to the Northern sky
So you saved your shillins and your last six pence
Cause in God`s name they built a barbed wire fence
Be glad you sailed for a better day
They can't take one drop of your Irish blood from you nor one gene of your Irish DNA. Ignore them. If you're of Irish ancestry, you are, and there's not one thing a stubborn asal like them can do about it.
Irish people not born in Ireland: De Valera, Tom Clarke, James Connally, Hugh Dubh O'Neil, Shane McGowan and so many more. What would have Ireland have been without them. Yes England.
Im 16, born in england, parents are irish, i'm irish, I recently put this as my ringtone and my mates took the piss, could I care less?
Fuck No.
Irish are honorable men and woman, true fighters.Greetings from Greece.
HALLEY FEASTER is a beast of a cello player.
looking forward to concert in Belgrade!
❤❤❤❤
my fav song
NOTHING MATTERS
D.M´s. best version of this magnificient song :)
Мощнейшее исполнение
Cool
Correct.
if people that lived on a space station had a baby would it be an alien :D
You merely adopted Irish heritage, I was born in it, raised in it, moulded by it!
Who in the world are you talking to, you miserable amadan?!?! Kenny and his boys are all of Irish background...except for DeRosa! Always have been, thru all the band member changes!
How come you be speaking as Béarla then. An bhfuil aon Ghaeilge agat? Tá ardchaighdeán Gaeilge ag teastáil
Paddy Reilly's version is my favorite, sang by an Irish man like it's supposed to be.
😂❤❤❤❤❤❤
youre ´right. but after the game spain - ireland at the euro 2012 the irish fans have the best version. this song is always good.
Yeah you're right. Jesus the irish football fans are the best there's ever been. Teaching the world what real supporters are. You need to find another Jack Charlton and go and win the bloody thing.
@@MrLeonardo1490 fun fact: the german commentator get the price for the best sport commentary of the year. he said 8min nothing!!!! he let the irish fans sing.
COME ON THE IRISH!
DM are also Irish. Just cause you weren't born there doesn't mean you aren't irish. I was born in Texas, but I'm as irish as any Dublin-born folk.
Rampage music
Makes me want to fukn dance!!!
A republican, anti British song, with the bagpipe player sporting a Linfield flag. History lessons boys!!
Unbelievable, Carl....You called it. Nail on the Head....As we speak, the Democratic Unionists, are trying to bring down the British Government.....I guess the lesson is....''Give them enough rope'' ?
They’re just using the song for its popularity. They don’t give two shits about the Irish struggle
@@chicsamson6457 Kilts are primarily a scottish thing. They wear them for formal events and supporting there national teams we don't . Nationalists tried to make it popular in the early 1900s ,but it never took off . It was compulsory for male irish dancers to wear them up until the 90s ,but now the practice has been abandoned there may be the odd one,but kilt wearing has never been a visceral part of irish culture .Historically there was the leine ,but though similar wasn't a kilt.Bagpipes are irish but not the mouth blown pipes ,irish pipes are played with a bellows and called the uilleann pipes.
@@galoglaich3281 To be fair kilt wearing is not a part of scottish culture either, only as the aforementioned weddings, but they were invented in Ireland, that makes them Irish,no point in arguing the fact
OK what is the best version? speak up :)
Really? Don't you decide what you belong to? I live in Mexico city, but I was born in Texas. My parents conceived me in Dublin, and all my lineage is irish-celtic... So I'm Mexican? Absolutely not. Look, I love Mexican culture and all, but in no way am I Mexican. I'm irish.
Love this version but do prefer crafts version
No he means his ancestors are from Ireland but he was born in England so hes English, if you were born in Ireland then call yourself Irish but i noticed you said you were born in Texas so your American but have Irish relatives and heritage.
dkm1
Our day will come! !! No Surrender. Oh And Just Remember 1690!!!
Charming, Mr. Martin. "Remember" whatever seafoid you wish. Are you wearing your jackboots as well as your Red Hand underwear?
They're American. Just because you are of Irish decent that doesn't make you Irish. I'm of Irish decent but I am English having being born there and lived there my whole life.
Warum wird er Dudelsack-Spieler so wenig gezeigt? schlechte Regie
Plastic paddies are hilarious
I hate that term got relatives in EEngland America Australia and France and I see them just as Irish as I am a Dubliner by the way
Paddy Reilly OWNS this song : ua-cam.com/video/kkVG7HJqfwY/v-deo.html
I must say I preferred the first release of this song, which was by the Barleycorn.
wow sucks 'll
Blasphemy!
I've always had kinda had a soft spot for the Murphys, but objectively they're pretty mediocre.
BTW, Athenry - Gary Og. Just sayin'.
Bloody awful. Ruined a brilliant song.
This band is awesome ❤love from Australia ❤
