Onion Fried Egg Chinese Style | 4K

  • This is a classic comfort food that every Chinese household makes in their own unique way. Welcome to my interpretation to this classic dish! I updated this recipe with some modern techniques of caramelization of onions and deep fried corn. The egg is scrambled in the creamy French style for both amazing texture and taste. So try this simple yet delicious recipe today!
    Egg Fried Onion Chinese Style:
    1) Beat 4 eggs into a smooth scramble and season lightly with salt. (Don't worry about the salk denaturing the egg because that's actually helpful for this recipe.)
    2) Deep fry the onions in veggie oil (I like avocado oil). Set the temp to 380 F. You can try a variety of onions for complexity of flavor.
    3) Optional step is to deep fry some corn. This part can be dangerous! The water in the corn will evaporate and splash your stove. Cover immediately with a lid.
    4) Warm butter in a non-stick skillet. Don't burn the butter with high heat. Saute the fried onions in the butter; the idea is to let the onions soak in the fat from the butter.
    5) Pour the egg and stir rapidly to create the egg scramble. The low heat will help to keep it from over cooking.
    6) Plate (as per the video instructions at the end) and enjoy!
