Thank you for doing this video - I am a descendant of settlers who moved to Crow Wing in the 1800's and actually did not know that it is a ghost town until i looked it up and found your video! fascinating!!

Love that state park! Most people don’t know about Old Crow Wing. Can you imagine if the tracks would that been put trough that town it would have became a resort town as Brainerd

@@OurNewFrontPorch yup! I’ve often envisioned picking up a fishing license in Crow Wing. Not Brainerd.

Thank you for this! I was born and raised in Austin, MN and spent a lot of summer time up at my grandparents cabin on upper mission lake and some winter time at my grandparents winter homes in Mesa, AZ. Fast forward 20 years and I'm currently living in Apache Junction, AZ while my parents are living in while building their dream home 2 houses down from my grandma's old(now my aunts) cabin on upper mission lake. I'm heading back at the end of May to stay with the folks for a month or two hoping to make a good push on a lot of the work that needs to be done on their place. I'll definitely have to take a day to go check Crow wing state park out, it looks awesome and the history is amazing!

That's a pretty tragic story. It's hard to imagine that so many people died in such a small area.
