The conductor on that EJ&E unit in Bridgeport yard at 15:00 was Al Mosher, since passed on. Great guy to work with. I always enjoyed my time working at Glenn and Hawthorne yards. Good people and laid back, just the kind of days you like..
One of the best videos on railroads around Chicago absolutely love the video great work and the el stop on the orange line at halstead is definitely that rail fan spot for sure !!!!
I remember the first time I went to Chicago on the Empire Builder and had to wonder how a railfan could keep track of everything. Just think of how much it takes to bill a car through there. Love the J SD38-2 with the weed-cutter plows: reminds me of my favorite dash-2's of the Milwaukee Road.
Awesome video! I had to hit the Pause button at several points to got down notes. This video is full of inspiration for folks who model modern, urban railways.
amazing video, where can you get access to some of the vantage points you were at? would like to get some pictures and video from these areas. A lot of action at the above shot at the Cicero yard I beliebe it was. Subscribe back.
ww32 there is still BN Green rolling around. got 3 SD60M's here in Tulsa that work between Tulsa and the Port of Catoosa. There is also an SD40-2 that works the Yard Hump. On occasion we get a stray GP38-2 and or 1 of 2 GP30 / 39M's here as well.
I watched a lot of your vids. You have some great videos. I found most of your filming location on google earth. All I can say is you have no qualms about trespassing and give railfans a bad reputation for trespassing.
Maybe that's why he is no longer doing this. His last video made was in 2014. I know exactly where these spots are, I've lived in the area for 37 years.
Or maybe he has permission/the rights to be at the locations where he films. Making assumptions without supporting evidence gives you a bad reputation as another know-it-all railfan.
I see the signs when I film.I check in with the office, show my id and I'm almost always good to go.If they say no sometimes they have things going on I don't argue.

is excellent, the locations and of course the variety.

...I normally see that NS DuPont 30k hook up at the entrance of the I.C./CN maintenance facility in Homewood.

AWESOME FOOTAGE, THANKS
good footage...thanks for sharing. love seeing trains from a busy industrial area like this!
Two are the running rails, one is a guard rail, and the outside one to the right is the electrified third rail.
Wow a lot of trains in this video, good work
This was great all the way through!! One of my favorites!! Keep up the good work.
Man the train action is fabulous, Thank you
My good Lord. The best footage i have seen of trains. I thought i was a railfan. WOW great video.
Wow! Amazing!
Excellent video I have one question what were those ns/dupoint cars
Awesome catches and video!!!
looked like UP #3078 SD40-2 is an Ex. CNW unit because of the nose mounted bell
That scene you see here is completely changed. You will see 95% intermodal in that area.
That is one great video! I really enjoyed watching it. Just as good as Pentrex! Only thing missing is narration.
...And you catch the DM&E geep w/ the RS5T paired with the last SOO GP40 on G45. Those have been on G35 so much recently
Sweet first catch! Those NS SD70M's are hard to catch leading in this area
Very nice video! Thanks for shooting it and posting it!!
Fantastic video, thanks for sharing, enjoyed it very much, (from Canada)
+Harold Smuck whoa canada? even people that far like it too

Wooo! 1500 is the best kid of an Ex-BN unit,a Whiteface livery unit! Nice catches!
loved this video
Wolf your videos are so fucking good!! I'm going to Galesburg railroad days this year. Are you going too?
Anyone have a pic of the inside of a Metra coach from NYC wondering where the stairs are to the top level and what a Metra car looks like inside
Steps to the upper level are located either side of the center loading area
Superb videos. Subbed !
Nice video
18:00 the EJ&E headed east of Chicago to New York on October of 2011. caught her in Ohio!
i love how hat truck tries to drive away from the fake bonnet
Is the BN green still common?

+ww32 Got some totally green engines that work out of BNSF in Temple, Tx.
on 3078 why is there a mechanical crossing bell on the front of it
bryce lacaille It's known as a gong bell actually. That is an Ex-CNW unit, and that is what CNW used for their train bells.
Bionicle Studios 55 ok thanks
+CN railfan Some or most of the CSX locomotives have the crossing bell located at the middle of the engine.
I thought the EJ&E ceased on Jan 1, 2013??? Are they still running around?
LaQuan Miller They actually ceased operation in 2008. CN just hasn't repainted some of the units, so they still run.
2:48 why al GE's locos do that "woop" sound?
Air compressor starting, 5 years late.
neat stuff
Nice
Great job!
Oldies night.
non stop action!
I need to shoot a train passing htat B&O CPL at Dolton before they took it down. They just removed the Pennsy PL a few weeks ago
*The Js have arrived*
but the quality of some rail tracks is just horrible, look at the cars wobbling

+Golden Manuever he says he stopped filming because lately he is more interested in photography. he has a flickr page.
