Hi Gemma, for the Robin yarn, I think a Musselburgh would be great for it. Batch cooking is amazing, a white board or piece of paper with the menu plan on it, on the fridge to remind yourself to get the out of the freezer, works great for me. Hugs from Adelaide 💙

Ooh yes a hat could be lovely. I might go for the Inside Out hat as I saw one being made and it makes sense to me. I've written on the calendar what I need to get out and when, although saying that I got so distracted by prepping for a family Sunday roast this morning that I totally forgot to get the stuff out haha! Never mind - leftover pie tomorrow and steak pie Tuesday when that defrosts. It will be ok! Hugs x

    Morning 😊.
It looked like you had a great time washing all your knits, especially Robbin!
For your special Robin yarn my go to would be a cowl, they normally allow you to use as much of the skein as possible and are so handy when you are outside with children.
I've done weekly menu prep for years as I have a very restricted medical diet. Part of my condition means I can't eat leftovers or meat/fish that wasn't frozen at source. Like you I have definitely forgotten to get things out of the freezer at the right time so I have a couple of tricks I now use. 1) when I plan for the week I always write down what I need to get out of the freezer on the day I need to get it out. Or set a calendar reminder on my phone. 2) When I inevitably don't manage to get something out, I fill a bowl with tap water and pop the sealed bag or container in. Water defrosts most things fairly quickly. 3) I like to have at least one cook from frozen meal in the freezer for when the day has gone completely wonky! I hope some of these are helpful in your meal prepping.
I haven't ever really had any getting ready for autumn traditions. Apart from changing which shoes I have easy access to and popping my heated chair liner into my powerchair. I do need to do some yarn and jumper baking to make sure no moths have snuck in over the summer!
I hope your first week of work has gone really well and you can have a fun weekend at home with your family 😊.

Hello! Yes Robin just loves to be helpful. He's at that glorious age where there is beauty and wonder in everything, even those things that us tired adults would pass over or consider mundane, and it's bringing joy back to us! Thanks so much for the tips - I've already implemented the calendar reminders for taking things out of the freezer (I'm an analogue girl at heart).
This is my first year starting what I hope will become some traditions for preparing for the change in season. For once I'd like to get through it without feeling like I'm chasing squirrels or my own tail!
The first week has been great thanks although I'm shattered. Hope you're having a good weekend! xx
