If you really want to give praise for the costumes on Strictly all you have to do is a little bit of research or watch It Takes Two and you would find that the amazingly talented Vicky Gill is the head costume designer for Strictly. Vicky and her team do a fantastic job every year to make the celebs & the professional dancers look stunning & absolutely should be applauded for all their hard work and in my humble little opinion they deserve a hell of a lot more than Watch Mojo UK calling them whoever.
Danny & Oti's Argentine Tango is the best I've ever seen. The sheer speed of that dance and the absolute perfection of the placement of his footwork is impeccable. Their chemistry was off the charts and how it didn't score a perfect 40 is ridiculous. They were 100% robbed of the trophy and I'm still so mad about it. They will forever be the best couple to ever grace the Strictly dance floor 💫

The voice over for these WatchMojo Strictly top 10s is written as though they are huge Strictly fans, but the dancers names are pronounced wrongly (Al-jazz instead of Ali-ash for Alijaz for example) and basic facts are either wrong or missing that would take seconds to find out: Vicky Gill and her team were and are responsible for the stunning costumes; Ashley actually is a contemporary dancer; Kimberly and Pasha were dancing a Viennese Waltz there, not a Waltz. Who would’ve thought of putting When Doves Cry with tango? Well, Strictly, as Vincent and Rachel danced an Argentine Tango to it previously and I think Jay and Aliona were the 3rd or 4th couple to use it (over a long period of time and their tango was stunning, so not a complaint by any means), but it wasn’t “inventing a whole new dance genre”. There also seemed to be a lot of emphasis on suggesting some pairs were more than dance partners, which was true for some couples, but not for the ones picked up on: Oti is happily married; AJ and Saffron didn’t even try with a Showmance let alone anything more; Pasha was happily married to Rachel and Ashley was dating Gio at the time of their dance. Good partnerships have good chemistry and they act out the emotions. Given this weird emphasis it seemed strange that the one real couple wasn’t remarked on. Voiceover should add to it and this didn’t. It could’ve added facts like that amazing waltz from Alijaz and Abbey was from week 1 or 2 in Alijaz’s first Strictly season. I really rarely comment, especially to criticise, but I’ve just watched two of these Strictly top 10s from WatchMojo and the mispronunciation of names, little factual errors etc were scattered throughout both. Considering the dancers names are included at the start of every BBC clip (“Dancing the Charleston, Caroline Flack and Pasha Kovalev”), the pronunciations are a lot easier to learn than the spellings (I’ve no idea if I’ve got them right or not) and at the very least, who is dancing, what dance they’re performing and the year it’s from should be included and correct for each entry.
Just a tip off as you mentioned Alijaz's name is spelt like that so the person doing the commentary is pronouncing how it's spelt not how sounds put the point still stands. Alijaz is Slovenian by birth so it's not a familiar name to an English personal but if the commentator is a fan he ought to get it right.
@@thelovelymisshill Sorry I'm English and my spelling's just as crap in my native language.
