very cool video and awesome job on the fabrication.. how are the mpgs on that truck btw and do they seem very reliable?

Thank you so much 🤓 I get between 17 and 21 mpg with a good amount of highway driving. If exclusively on the highway, I can get around 23-24 mpg. I would say they're about as reliable as anything else if maintained well. The early 2006 models did have issues with the heads, though. The body of mine is at 326,000 miles and holding up well 😎

I just bought an H3 to camp in. Are you able to stretch out in there?

Hello Scott, nice choice 😎 I sure can stretch out nicely with this setup. I scoot the passenger seat forward a bit for a little extra room. Having the back seat removed and the platform installed makes it perfect for me. I've slept in it with two dogs, two cats, and two people (including myself, and I'm 6'2") with just enough room haha 😄

@@H3Humper oh your 6'2"? Good I'm 6'1" so it looks like it will be a comfortable fit! Since I live in Central Washington state it can get pretty cold here so im going to.be looking into installing a diesel heater powered by a twin Optima battery set up i want to install. You know the list gets long lol. Thank you for your response bro!!

@@scottreasons4746 removing the plastic panel from the rear hatch gives an extra 5 inches or so of leg room, which is a necessity for us tall folk lol. Central Washington sounds nice! That's actually where my H3 is from, and I live in Idaho. A diesel heater sounds very nice, and I saw they make gasoline versions, too. I was thinking about putting one on mine but so far I haven't gotten too cold, surprisingly. I made these window panels and I think they truly help a lot ua-cam.com/video/tclxEZhg3k8/v-deo.html They keep the heat in and also keep me from getting my stuff wet from the condensation on the windows. The coldest I've gone so far was 20°F with two blankets and I still ended up getting too hot and uncovered to cool off haha. I totally hear you on the list getting longer and longer! The mod's are endless 🤓

Can you make one with the rear seats still installed?

Hello Iron Bar, I will add a sleeping setup with the rear seats retained to my list of future videos. :) The seats take up a lot of space but it sure is nice to have them when needed! My friend, Andrew, has a cool setup with an elevated platform. I'll ask him to make a video on it and will share it with you. I bet his would fit over the top of the seats.
