    Love the magic drafting Tristian da Silva, basically another wing Franz Wagner, with better passing and a good shooter which is what the magic needed bad

    Edey is an amazing PnR weapon because he's so insanely big. He sets big screens, you can't switch a perimeter player on to him because he can post them up, you don't want to hedge because he's so much bigger than the tag guy who will struggle to contain him, and in general his roll gravity is absurd. He's gonna get his points and rebounds just by being on the court, he's great at sealing guys off whenever he gets a positional advantage, him just being so big and strong with touch creates offense by itself. He doesn't need to emphasize the post game to be productive on offense, and that value by itself is enough to keep him on the floor for starter minutes so long as he's at least an adequate drop big.

    • @_AVC_
      @_AVC_  3 місяці тому

      Honestly pick and roll isn’t where I want to really put him. Hopefully he gets to that point but I’m not sure I want him moving that much. Guys cut him off early in the rotation and now he’s stuck around the nail.

    Since you have expressed on several occasions your unfavorable desire for some of the prospects such as "the finger nail painting guy", "the IRS man" AND
    " BATAS MUZELIS ", I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall to see your facial expressions and hear how many F-BOMBS you dropped when one of them fell to your Bulls

    Even tho we have 3 banners, it has been miserable to be a Pistons fan since Mr Davidson died. My reaction was the same as yours when we drafted Ron Holland, WTF are we doing. Feels bad for the kid, because he is going to a dysfunctional situation, where he doesn't fit.

    I think Edey will be fine. People are over thinking him, yet drafting guards who can’t shoot and other big men who can’t finish around the rim. Doesn’t make sense.

    • @_AVC_
      @_AVC_  3 місяці тому

      Can we define “fine”? 😅

    • @BBallRambling
      @BBallRambling 3 місяці тому +1

      @@_AVC_ He has great durability, defends without fouling, bothers every shot near him, gobbles up rebounds, sets good screens, and is a sure thing within 6 feet from the rim. Plus he has shown he can knock down shots out to the NBA 3-point line in practice and a little in FIBA. I know he isn’t a hyper athlete, but how many starting centers in the league on good teams right now are? I think the Sarr archetype is overrated. Lively is a success story; but I have seen too many Wiseman, Hayes, Caulie Stein, Len, Noel, etc.

    • @_AVC_
      @_AVC_  3 місяці тому

      @@BBallRambling I think Sarr fits a different type of player than the ones listed personally. His all around defense against pros is actually pretty nuts to watch on film.
      Back to Edey though. I think he’s an NBA talent don’t get me wrong, but that’s why I wanted to define “fine”. Cuz will he stick around? Yeah I think so, but what level do we want him to get to? I don’t see him being an active offensive weapon but that’s not the end of the world, it just caps him in my mind. I’ll sign up for a guy his size playing defense and rebounding off the bench, that sounds awesome.

    • @BBallRambling
      @BBallRambling 3 місяці тому +1

      @@_AVC_ With Sarr, we will see. And with Edey I think he can be a starter for a playoff team pretty much right off the bat. He won’t be the best player on a playoff team at this very moment, but you never know. He has gotten exponentially better every year since he started playing basketball 6 years ago.

    Totally agree on the Pistons - it's a confusing pick at best, and I don't want to say how I really feel about it. How could they possibly put any combination of Holland-Ausar-Ivey on the court together and expected to win (all drafted at pick 5)... so frustrating.
    Just wish they would focus on helping Cade. Maybe they will in Free Agency, but this doesn't fill me with confidence.

    Clingon decided to go on a slide this morning, but Portland is a good spot for him. Dillingham to Timberwovles has the potential to be interesting. I'm still holding out for Edey to do well, I think his first couple of months in the league are going to be super telling. Jazz did well with Cody Williams (I think the jazz are a big winner with the draft, especially after getting Collier). I'm an Aussie, so I am inclined to like the bucks pick but I don't know how he'll stack up. Glad that Terrance Shannon Jr, made the first round. Was hoping Johnny Furphy would make the first round but that didn't happen, I don't think he falls further than Portland's pick at 34 at the very latest. Choose are my thoughts on the 1st round of the draft.

    This is gonna be a bit of rambling. Things that stuck out to me were ron holland going 5 and i was like theres no way. I was like cant wait to see his reaction because this team has zero spacing and just drafts another non spacer. I cant imagine ivey, holland, duren, and ausar on the court.
    Salaun to the hornets nice play hopefully they can actually develop someone. Donovan clingan falling to the blazers beautiful for them but now they have 3 bigs so curious what happens.
    Minnesota completely suprising move up for Dillingham. I think the fits good but what they gave up could be risky. 2030 swap with top 1 protection and unprotected 2031 pick so hopefully they win a ring and dillingham works out.
    Before i talk about edey and memphis i thought it was funny u said “do we think edeys a starting point guard?” Gonna be one hell of fastbreak ill tell u that. On the serious side though its obvious they need a big but zach edey i think its tough to see him with fast pace pg morant. I completely agree with what u said about him not being that center for them.
    Nikola topic is interesting for the thunder especially since they just traded for caruso, they have wallace, and joe, and wiggins. I wonder when hes healthy hows he gonna be involved, do they make a splash with their picks and youth or do they still take this conservative route.
    To end my rambling i wanna talk about the heat one. As a fellow heat fan I accept ur very nice f u. Didnt hold back and let it out for us getting a good pick. I think it can be interesting if hes eventually our starting 5 and bams at the 4. Heat also just needed size and another big

    As a okc fan I absolutely hate what they done we drafted a Giddey clone and drafted Dillon jones another small undersize wing
    I’m not shocked at all I knew this would possibly happen but it so frustrating constantly drafting guards and undersize wings,i knew we wasn’t drafting a traditional big which was always unrealistic but we couldn’t at least draft a forward with length or a backup big something we actually need instead of more guards
    I pray this means they will be aggressive in free agency but my expectations are very low after the draft,completely ruined my entire day
