Could you do a version where Kakyoin survives? Like he doesn't kill Dio but when he gets hurt he's saved. Like this idea Jotaro and Polnareff realize he's near by with Joseph and while Joseph distracts Dio which Jotaro and Polnareff take Kakyoin with them and take him to a hospital and they treat his and Polnareff's (because if you remember what happened to him against Ice) wounds. Jotaro then comes in and Joseph is still killed with the fight going the same but Polnareff probably sneaks out of the hospital to save Jotaro so that still happens. Could you try that as a potential video idea?
