It’s a step in the right direction seeing feedback being implemented in season 2 and beyond. However a lot of this feedback was mentioned by the community when the game was still in BETA.
It requires a combination of community feedback with a rapidly declining playerbase, few sales, and poor ratings to be heard. It's not that these shareholders actually play the game anyway. Money speaks. Which is the problem of the gaming industry abroad; Shareholders want something supposedly to make money > Doesn't actually make a good game > They pull back from supporting the game or studio. I wish we could hold them more accountable for their bad influence on quality and their lasting damage on good development, or how they literally destroy the industry company by company.
Betas aren't to get feedback anymore, they're too close to the release for that. At most they test servers but that's it, in no way was the beta feedback going to be implemented before launch. What they really needed instead were focus groups way ahead of that during development to figure out that their new direction would not satisfy customers.
They should really bring back operations to fill the gap with the lack of campaign, I think it would be a really interesting way to tell a story while in multiplayer and it's just all around fun in Battlefield 1 & 5
Yeah that'd make sense wouldn't it? I haven't played the game at all, but these seasons should also give more lore to the story. Not sure if they're already doing that or not.

IMO levolution for this new map would have been more interesting if the map gets flooded (instead of just more sandstorm/tornadoes). Have some containers start to float, maybe have a new seaworthy ship sail in, etc. Suddenly the desert map becomes a water map with pockets of cqb.
Someone at DICE seems to be obsessed with shipping containers. Hopefully a great map like Exposure. Glad to see new weapons being added. Keep up the good work.
From what If heard we getting 5 weapons 2 of them are from portal. 1 new map, 2 map reworks, 1 specialist and a battlepass. From new viehicles and gedgets if heard nothing

It'd be cool it we could get different weather and natural disaster event other than a tornado. In hourglass, a sandstorm rolls in after some time. Not having a blizzard event on breakaway was a missed opportunity imo. Not sure how much coding would be involved but you basically have the blueprint to do it based on Hourglasses sandstorm. Additionally, seeing and or being able to trigger the landslide event on Exposure would have been sooo dope or how about an random earthquake that changes the tesselation or geometry of the map or thunderstorm that casues low visibility for a min or 2. Heavy night time fog etc..... Im just tried to seeing a tornado roll through each and every time.
1:33 - 1:38 As much as I love these trailers I'm starting to notice a pattern of soldiers just standing still like deers in headlights whenever literal danger is right in front of them.
We don't want destroyed maps, we want to generate the destruction ourselves, please more destruction, I don't want a map with the destruction already done, we have to cause the destruction ourselves!
Something a little more dynamic and spontaneous would suit the game better than 4 styled levolution. It never really enhanced the experience and made things worse a lot of the time.

I’ve seen some good improvements since season 1. Would say the game needs more destructive buildings like in battlefield V. Hope it will be added in season 3.

I miss the old times when a Battlefield trailer gave me goosebumps and excitement. Battlefield 3 trailers, Battlefield 4...Battlefield one. Nowadays I just ...watch and... "ok".

I'm not gonna lie, DICE knows how to make a trailer and make people want to play it. BUT the game is still far from being what BF3/4 and/or BF1/5 is. There are a lot of things that were promised and were not there at the release, we have to wait several months to see these additions/modifications such as the scoreboard or the nerf of some weapons/vehicles.
Although this new map basically looks like discarded 2.0, I think it’s a pretty good addition. Seems like it has a lot of CQB potential, which should be interesting. I also feel like it might be a good map for Rush. Hope DICE keeps up the good work and doesn’t abandon it like they did BFV

If you can have “Squid G’s Chaos” essentially an overpopulated rush mode designed for 64 players but yet holds 128, you can bring back 128 breakthrough which was designed for 128 players. I’m surprised nobody has sued you for removing half of the selling point for AOW.
@@Randomcatontheinternet the lack of cover on maps, confuison around the specialists and the overall lack of content was voiced by the community during the open beta (go and watch gameplay from that time. Its a shame it took them this long, but the stuff they showed off during the dev stream on maps and their flow looks promising.
I’ll be giving it a go. The patches have been solid and the changes for season 2 are a nice middle ground between community’s requests and the changes they made from previous BF games.
We have a long ways to go but this seems like a good step in the right direction. We are getting classes back, specialist customization for more variety and some huge map overhauls to make things look like an actual war zone. It’s not perfect yet but I have faith that Dice can make this a memorable game (for the right reasons), they just need time. Also is it just me or did they just reveal that there will be *2 tornados* on the new map? 1:30
3 new guns plus 6 guns from portal. A new map and two reworked maps. Might not be a lot compared to other games but it's decent enough to keep me hooked
The game has certainly improved! The new weapons will definitely be appreciated. The map from season 1 is an incredibly solid map, and I’m sure the season 2 map will be as well. Thanks for putting in the effort DICE, it has made the game much more fun to play!

Discarded map is huge though and hollow kind of on the inside (when it comes to the ship). This one mignt have a ship too, but it has tons of elevations with unique rooms and spaces. Definitely a good addition! CQC will be super fun here!

aka remove EA from the equation. all the DICE devs I am friends with (which is only like 4, but a sample) are extremely passionate about the game. However, they have noted to others that they sometimes feel extremely pressured. Honestly, I feel bad for the devs and annoyed at EA. Rushing games out for sales prevents developers from actually giving quality.
I had 3 hours left on my 10 hours trial, so I gave it a second chance after that catastrophic launch. I finally had fun, we're going on the good direction on my opinion.
I'm honestly excited for this season, and its taking back my pain for buying the 100 dollar edition. But there is an issue, why is it so hard to level up the battle pass? I just came back to the game a week ago, I'm level 63 in the pass and I've completed every challenge??? It would be impossible to max it out at this point without grinding 247 or paying for the pass.. It really feels like dice is stealing from me because I did ALL the challenges after paying for the battle pass and I'm just over have done. I understand they want people to play the game more but this is the worst way to do it. It feels like I wasted money.
Sry I'm one month late but a good tip I have is just go for the proximity sensor and Angle that kind of what I'd had use to get my thing up pretty fast because I play as a support character that helps spot, heal, revive, and resupply.
theory : for the history of the games, I think that "oz" has recovered the experimental weapon in the complex (on the "exposure" map) and the new operator will try to stop it to prevent him from using it.
Bro I feel like there “finally” getting stuff right with this game, season 2 is looking great and I one thing I wish they could add is new weather affects like on Obital or kiladscope could have like a massive tidal wave that floods part of the map or maybe some maps have earthquakes that break the map apart

You guys set up a really interesting world, had a pretty sweet short movie, didn't initially flesh out the maps to reflect the post apocalyptic nature of the world, and have no campaign or operation type maps to enhance the lore of the world. You've just been systematically strangling something I was legit excited about over the past year.

As long as they commit to at LEAST a second year of content, this game is going in the right direction. They've fixed MOST of the issues with the game, and the rest are inbound. Season 3 looks to re-introduce class systems, server browser is on the way etc. After that? Literally, my only issue of the game will be content. The game actually plays really well right now, especially on Exodus conquest where, if I'm going to be completely honest, the 64-player modes still just simply play better than the bigger mode. No, it shouldn't have launched like this, but that was seemingly the fault of EA for pushing it out the door before it's ready. A lot of the devs at DICE these days aren't the vets from the days of cleaning up BF4 etc, and I also wouldn't be surprised if specialists was something that EA was pushing for, as its monetisable. Regardless, as I said, the game is MUCH better now that it was, and it only continues to get better. I just hope they drag enough playerbase back to play it to prove it to them, because everyone got to BFV too late and they already stopped the post-launch content, despite that being a good BF game these days. We really missed out on the Eastern Front!!

@@thorbjrndalsgaard5199 And an interesting thing I found out, after reading some of the new lore for this season I found that apparently the nee specialists has set up something called the "Dark Market Vault" that basically is a collection of old weapons as far as WW2, Hence these vault weapons we are getting
While many fans wanted a remake of Noshahr Canals, we didn't want most or all of the map to have cargo ships or cargo containers. In fact, Noshahr Canals was the one map that I avoided most often in BF3. Now, without a server browser, I can rarely escape cargo container maps in BF2042.
I would like to play, but every time a get into a match my cpu goes up all the way to 100% and my pc is just overworked. Is this happening to anyone else?

Containers and bungalows are pretty good ways to make it realistic and re use assets

The thing is that we are going to need more than 20 new seasons if every season brings so little new content
This season should eventually total 8 weapons (as they are also adding in total 5 Portal weapons to AOW).
Back then every new season brought 4 new maps, 2 gamemodes and a ton of content. EA just perceived some people being glad to receive so little.
Except if you watched the previous dev blog you’d know they’re releasing all the portal weapons in waves and more.

@@Randomcatontheinternet the lack of cover on maps, confuison around the specialists and the overall lack of content was voiced by the community during the open beta (go and watch gameplay from that time. Its a shame it took them this long, but the stuff they showed off during the dev stream on maps and their flow looks promising.

I’ll be giving it a go. The patches have been solid and the changes for season 2 are a nice middle ground between community’s requests and the changes they made from previous BF games.
Just to be clear so that you won't be disappointed later: the class system will return in Season 3, not in this one.
We have a long ways to go but this seems like a good step in the right direction. We are getting classes back, specialist customization for more variety and some huge map overhauls to make things look like an actual war zone. It’s not perfect yet but I have faith that Dice can make this a memorable game (for the right reasons), they just need time.
Also is it just me or did they just reveal that there will be *2 tornados* on the new map? 1:30

The game has certainly improved! The new weapons will definitely be appreciated. The map from season 1 is an incredibly solid map, and I’m sure the season 2 map will be as well. Thanks for putting in the effort DICE, it has made the game much more fun to play!

Discarded map is huge though and hollow kind of on the inside (when it comes to the ship). This one mignt have a ship too, but it has tons of elevations with unique rooms and spaces. Definitely a good addition!

aka remove EA from the equation. all the DICE devs I am friends with (which is only like 4, but a sample) are extremely passionate about the game. However, they have noted to others that they sometimes feel extremely pressured. Honestly, I feel bad for the devs and annoyed at EA. Rushing games out for sales prevents developers from actually giving quality.
The progress may be slow, but it’s progress. I can’t wait for this next season, keep on it DICE!

I had 3 hours left on my 10 hours trial, so I gave it a second chance after that catastrophic launch. I finally had fun, we're going on the good direction on my opinion.

I'm honestly excited for this season, and its taking back my pain for buying the 100 dollar edition. But there is an issue, why is it so hard to level up the battle pass? I just came back to the game a week ago, I'm level 63 in the pass and I've completed every challenge??? It would be impossible to max it out at this point without grinding 247 or paying for the pass.. It really feels like dice is stealing from me because I did ALL the challenges after paying for the battle pass and I'm just over have done. I understand they want people to play the game more but this is the worst way to do it. It feels like I wasted money.
Sry I'm one month late but a good tip I have is just go for the proximity sensor and Angle that kind of what I'd had use to get my thing up pretty fast because I play as a support character that helps spot, heal, revive, and resupply.

You guys set up a really interesting world, had a pretty sweet short movie, didn't initially flesh out the maps to reflect the post apocalyptic nature of the world, and have no campaign or operation type maps to enhance the lore of the world. You've just been systematically strangling something I was legit excited about over the past year.

The franchise may be a sinking ship,but they sure know how to keep us hooked with these trailers.
As long as they commit to at LEAST a second year of content, this game is going in the right direction. They've fixed MOST of the issues with the game, and the rest are inbound. Season 3 looks to re-introduce class systems, server browser is on the way etc. After that? Literally, my only issue of the game will be content. The game actually plays really well right now, especially on Exodus conquest where, if I'm going to be completely honest, the 64-player modes still just simply play better than the bigger mode. No, it shouldn't have launched like this, but that was seemingly the fault of EA for pushing it out the door before it's ready. A lot of the devs at DICE these days aren't the vets from the days of cleaning up BF4 etc, and I also wouldn't be surprised if specialists was something that EA was pushing for, as its monetisable. Regardless, as I said, the game is MUCH better now that it was, and it only continues to get better. I just hope they drag enough playerbase back to play it to prove it to them, because everyone got to BFV too late and they already stopped the post-launch content, despite that being a good BF game these days. We really missed out on the Eastern Front!!

This trailer is a really good trailer and plus, 3 new weapons, new vehicles and our new specialist that looks like they have a deployable Minigun turret

While many fans wanted a remake of Noshahr Canals, we didn't want most or all of the map to have cargo ships or cargo containers. In fact, Noshahr Canals was the one map that I avoided most often in BF3. Now, without a server browser, I can rarely escape cargo container maps in BF2042.
