Manly jumping out to an early lead thanks to some costly errors but the Warriors, but the Warriors came back strong to level the game in the last seconds. Yeh nah i was torn about this game.I’m proud we came back and almost won it from 16 down but it was no where near as good as we have been playing all season way too many errors and our defence was barely hanging on for the first 60 mins of that game it felt like. But hey same thing happened last year we slowly started getting better the longer the year went on.

      I thought our D was way better watching the second time. 3 of their tries were very well set up… so I don’t blame our D too much. It’s the silly errors that did my head in

      Yeah, but remember we put 4 tries on one of the best teams in the comp right now, on a night we weren’t really clicking. Imagine what happens when we can maintain pressure and really put the foot down. I reckon we see it happen over the next couple of weeks against the Dragons or Titans

    I was at the fortress, and you should've seen the crowds leave in droves in the last 10. Showed the wagoners to the Faithful. Bloody awesome game left me on my toes and in agony to the last seconds. I feel the fatigue is waning on the team. i hope we have enough gas in the tank to make it to the bye. However we have the greatest defense in the nrl right now.

      Yeah I heard about that. Some people just don’t handle games like that, I know I don’t 😂 I felt like we finished way stronger than Manly but you’re right, the bye seems a long way off especially for some of our key players who’ve played every game

    We are missing Dylan walkers impact off the bench big time.
    Also be interesting to see what happens if TMM keeps improving, I think he has a better all round game than metcalf at the moment and might stay there.

      Yeah we sure are missing DW, but he's not back until the Titans so one more week without him. Agree 100% on TMM, much better overall game. I think he'll be there as long as he stays fit now.

      Seems TMM is everyone's fav but Webster chose Mets ahead of him for a reason.
      TMM has far more experience in first grade but Mets has genuine game breaking X factor that few possess.
      I always look at who would you rather mark up against and for me TMM is far easier to contain than Mets
      Given Mets injury he will struggle to get back to full match fitness this season so the position is TMM's to lose with the left footed hard tackling CHT an option.

    • @thewarriorholic
      @thewarriorholic  Місяць тому

      @@jackohere1878 I don’t think it all comes down to individual X factor at times. You’d argue RTS has more X factor than CNK at 1, but CNK makes the team better with the skills he offers. I think TMM is the same. Not saying for ever, but right now I like his combo with SJ better.

    Well Manly came to play while for the first 30 minutes WAHS looked like a team believing all the over hyping press and podcasts about how we are sure to be in GF etc leading to basic unacceptable errors a plenty.
    However we kinda got serious and fought our way back then got real serious showing what top sides do when behind in the last 10 minutes.
    To hold Manly out so DCE never got a decent attempt for a goal in extra time ( especially when they got a 7 tackle set) showed real character.
    Barnett outstanding - must be huge chance of getting a NSW callup.
    Still early in the season so - Bag the one comp point -Take the lessons - Move on for a winning run as all of the next 3 games very winnable.

    All those massive props you are talking about are been scouted from grass roots levels, and introduced to the academies, Harold Mats, SG Ball, Jersey flegg squads here. You just have to see the monsters coming through the Broncos systems. So thank goodness Robo is investing $$$ into development. I’m not fussed about Rocco or Capewell’s stats as they are heavily involved in the effort plays on defence or lead up on attack. Jackson Ford does have error or two in him but he plays big minutes and as long as he keeps running those lines he’ll keep asking the defence questions. Barnett is the guy who has really impressed me since last season. From missing a few weeks there with that neck issue. He came back in without missing a beat and he to me is just as important as AFB in the prop rotation. Definitely wouldn’t let NSW down that’s for sure. Has to be a priority signing for us in his next contract 💯 Injuries are of concern for sure as it’s only early in the season. Ale has been great off the bench too. As for the game just grateful we got a draw as we looked like we were gonna get smoked at 16 nil 😲 Great comeback from the boys but that game was littered with errors & poor execution. SJ threw a couple of forward/forced passes that surprised me too. Live n learn on to the next game

    • @thewarriorholic
      @thewarriorholic  Місяць тому

      Yeah I hear you on the scouting, great we have the pathways going, but even then it will still be hard to keep all the best of the young talent. Even with that, there has to be someone floating around in NZ somewhere., but I guess it comes down to the mental side of things not just size and talent

    • @riccingarotata9847
      @riccingarotata9847 Місяць тому

      @@thewarriorholic we are only one team so the reality is we can’t keep them all 💯 we are also in competition with union for talent as well, but as long the Warriors keep up with the performances it will inspire the next generation of kids coming through. We have just as much talent as Aussie, you just have to see all the Polynesian’s/Kiwis involved in the NRL but its there pathways systems thats seperates them from us. With Webby on board I’m more optimistic on the future of the Nz Warriors 🤙🏽 Also the possibility of competition expansion also dilutes player talent so academies/pathways systems are crucial. Thats what makes Penrith so brillant in what they have done the last 4 years. I reckon we can still take them though 😜

    Hey Holi, As a solution I can see Kurt Capewell becoming a middle forward in the Micheal Luck/Mitch Barnett mould and Jacob Laban becoming a starter on the edge especially due to the multi week injuries to Jazz Tevaga, Bunty Afoa, Dylan Walker and Marata Niukore(edge who can play mid). A lot of our mid forwards are good ball players and off loaders so Tohu Harris playing prop isn't a big change for him. Mitch Barnett is going great for us this season and could possibly start on the bench next to the young mids Zyon Maiu'u & Tom Ale with Chanel being the utility. It is a long season and for preservations sake maybe veterans like Harris & Capewell could be more like 65-70 minute players with the heavier winter mud fest coming and allowing the trust in others to step up and grow. We have our first bye in 7 weeks so monitoring their minutes may help restrict further injuries. Laban getting some time in the middle was good for him vs Manly but his skillset and athleticism on the edge is where he should be playing. Ford is going well but the errors are a concern as are Capewell's missed tackles on the edge. However, it really is Zyon's time to be the next Ale or Bunty and if he gets in a couple of decent runs and adds some starch on defence then the crowd will get behind him and it will be all go from there. A cheeky 15-20 minutes to get the ball rolling at the 30 or 50 minute mark would be a suitable entry point into the game for Maiu'u. Ale made a bad error and gave away a penalty at crucial times in the 2nd half so if he is not careful, Zyon could overtake him in the pecking order. Despite some inevitable injuries we have depth and good prospects coming through and it is potentially Maiu'u, Laban and Ali Leiataua's time to shine any week now and Ale's chance to get a good string of games together and keep evolving. It is all positive and to think that Pompey, Chanel, Taine, Moala-Graham and Freddy can't get a start is an excellent luxury to have. Our fitness was better than Manly's in the 2nd half and the Manly bench was in disarray over substitutions late in regulation time and during golden point. UTW

      @thewarriorholic  Місяць тому

      Some interesting observations. I’ve heard Webby talk about Jackson as a middle option in the past so maybe Laban can cover his spot and he moves to the middle during the game.
      Personally I feel Tom is a huge long term prospect off bench. His numbers are always good, just got the odd penalty in him.
      Long term Zyon should be awesome, just don’t think we should expect too much too soon. This is only his second year in the middle and he’s still very raw.
      Excited to see how they ease him in though.
