You should compare this Les Paul with the guitarnet.se version of their Les Paul copy that's priced at the same range as this Epiphone Les Paul... The brand is Green, and you should know that it is an surname here in Scandinavia and not the English color.. 👽
If you make a bone nut from a cow humerus your guitar will sound funny...April fools! I have a honeyburst Epi Les Paul that had that same annoying buzz on the B and hi E open strings. I stuck a bit of cotton bed sheet under those strings at the nut and it stopped. I replaced the nut and problem fixed. I looks like the nut slots were either cut too deep or too wide. I have a Rickenbacker 360 with the vibrato tailpiece and the guitar buzzed like that. Drove me nuts. Turns out the screws on the bridge for adjusting the intonation wore out the holes where the screw ends sit and several of the saddle screws were rattling. I think the vibrato rocking the strings back and forth caused it. The intonation has only needed adjusting a couple times in 40+ years.
I wonder what would be your opinion on new harley benton sc-custom plus emg. Similar price to that epiphone and the same type. This epiphone sounded dark at the begining of your review. Was that strymon that made sound better? After all it sounds really nice.
Hi.. Mr.E,why not just buy a used Les Paul standard? You could play for a few years sell for what you paid, buy a strat. Haa I really dig those standard double cuts, something like that I would keep
Sound is the most important thing. But I can't past that terrible looking sunburst. Not the matte finish--I hate a very distinct yellow-to-dark red burst, looks cheap. I'm sure it's a nice guitar, the new Epiphones are very nice.
Neck is described as "slim C"....does anybody know if it is an actual C shape as opposed to those weird D shaped necks that Epiphones have used on their guitars for years and that are unplayable IMHO?
The buzz would be a return for me... I think it goes to show that Epiphone haven’t got it right yet.... Its a shame as I had an Epi LP Custom about 30 years ago, and that was a constant source if frustration... They just army good enough, and other companies do better copies.... If I were to do it all over I would have just saved up sooner and got the guitar I actually wanted....(I got one a few years later). I know thats harsh.... ...but you have no idea how bad an experience ive had with this brand!. The only Epi Im interested in is a master built Casino.
@@MrPolevaulter Ahhhh... I mean that's good if the rattle was just a loose truss rod... but that would still concern me. I do love a good LP but unfortunately I have yet to try an Epi that felt like a LP in the hands and then of course actually sounded like one... I know they have made a few good steps in the last few years but until they get the break angle at the headstock right I think they are just a waste of money... I have an Orville by Gibson '58 Plain top' now and wouldn't swap it for any Gibson..... OK maybe Jimmy Page's Black Custom.
And that’s where the subject ends! Good for the money!!!!!!! Meaning not really up to the mark!!! You only really get what you pay for. Life’s lesson we all have learned.
Tough to say. I'd have to compare it to an actual Gibson. Not too familiar with those. That being said, I got another Les Paul for less that I liked more. Needs a pickup upgrade though, so it will be as much as this. Video should be out next week or the week thereafter.

Hey, so you state in the description that it was in fact the truss rod causing resonance, can you detail the fix?
Just tightened it a bit.
so was the weird resonance due to too little relief ? you say it was the trussrod, but what excatly did you do ? thanks in advance :)
Tightened it a bit.
I watched this and bought it love for the money
The noise is lock bar tail peice
Thanks for the high gain stuff.
No problem :)
Truss rod, same failure on my Gibson. Adjust good to go...I think it's too loose
Yep. That's what it was.
Very like epi les paul guitar...moreover if the pickup swap with seymour duncan, gibson, or whatever you want..it become the badboy 😎🤘🤘
You should compare this Les Paul with the guitarnet.se version of their Les Paul copy that's priced at the same range as this Epiphone Les Paul...
The brand is Green, and you should know that it is an surname here in Scandinavia and not the English color.. 👽
Thanks for the tip. I checked out the site. I might just order something from there.
How about Epiphone standard?
Haven't tried it.
$449 in the states
Does it stay in tune???
What pedal gave you that sustain?
Strymon Riverside.
Yeah, that buzzing would have driven me nuts. Turns out it was the truss rod after all.
Nice looking guitar 🎸
And plays nice too :)
I have one and love it
Cool bananas :)
I must be the only human on Earth who doesn't like the song played at 6:00 because I swear, EVERY youtuber plays it
It’s “Hello” by Lionel Richie.
I wonder what would be your opinion on new harley benton sc-custom plus emg. Similar price to that epiphone and the same type. This epiphone sounded dark at the begining of your review. Was that strymon that made sound better? After all it sounds really nice.
I have a review coming of the regular version.
@@MrPolevaulter great! :)
Hi.. Mr.E,why not just buy a used Les Paul standard? You could play for a few years sell for what you paid, buy a strat. Haa I really dig those standard double cuts, something like that I would keep
I did keep a Les Paul, just not this one. Probably a video on that one coming next week, or the week thereafter.
Sound is the most important thing. But I can't past that terrible looking sunburst. Not the matte finish--I hate a very distinct yellow-to-dark red burst, looks cheap. I'm sure it's a nice guitar, the new Epiphones are very nice.
Awsome looking guitar
Yep :)
I hope it’s good
Just dropped $500 on one
Hope you like it :)
Neck is described as "slim C"....does anybody know if it is an actual C shape as opposed to those weird D shaped necks that Epiphones have used on their guitars for years and that are unplayable IMHO?
Not sure.
Go for $1K+ in Oz! Great axe tho!
Ordered one off eBay 850
@@danielpaddonshealingspace2481 Good price!
Turns out it was the truss rod. Just tightened it a bit and the resonance was gone.
@@PaulPauliePabloPaolo Haha break angle at the neck right? You actually WANT to downgrade it?
@@circedge Im not sure if you are just a troll and/or far more outspoken than you are informed?.... ;)
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘👍👍👍👍👍Gary Moore is perfect sound
Price: Epiphone = Gibson / 5
epiphone is like good no name shred guitar benton little better
$449 here
Fantastic demo as always, on a totally unrelated Bee Gees note, have you seen this:
ua-cam.com/video/J1p5zOM96f0/v-deo.html
Haha :D Good one :D
Epiphone is crushing it.
Yeah, very nice :)
CLOOOOOOOOOOOOWNBUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURST!
@@MrPolevaulter I just acquired a Harley Benton sc 550 emg pups for 335.00 English pounds inc vat and import duty.
It is made in Indonesia from thomann of course and I am shocked tbqh as it is an unbelievable instrument. Perfect build and the neck is very much on par with my les Paul custom shop and Sg standard. Rolled polished edges, ultra buzz free action. It’s sound is in between the former guitars I have mentioned. Lovely locking tuners, I just can’t believe it. I actually love the neck cut at the top it just helps on the upper register so much more than the les Paul shape, also I feel the headstock angle is a little shallower as well. How did they do it.
I do think these made in Indonesia models have gone to a level competing with guitars four times the price. Wow.
@@aliengrey6052 Cool!
Paint job looks awful.
?
it does but its on purpose. Thats the "worn" in Classic Worn. so not glossy
