@@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage no we don't,unless Canadian calendars are different to the rest of the world and is why I'm doing the bulk of my bodywork quickly now.i want to give any changes a good time to set. Build ends in April. And the guy at 6teesrule is called Dan
April? No, your British calendar is 2 months too quick.🤔😱Here's the title of his Group Build Video : Psychedelic 60's Group Build 2025 / Starts Jan1st thru July1st.
I don’t know why I’m only realizing you guys are from Alberta now… definitely going to try to order from y’all in the future. I’m from Nova Scotia, so it’s nice to know Canadian hobby shops. Especially ones as cool as you guys!
Interesting choice. Should look good when it's done. I am one of the non UA-cam participants in the group build this year. My choice is to build one of my Original issue AMT 40 Ford sedan kits, as a late 50s/ Early 60s hotrod. Doing either a Royal Flush poker, or a Black Jack card hand decal application. I will make up my own decals for this project.
I'm really glad you've picked this model. The pictures of the Astro and explanation of the parts is very good.👍 Good luck with your build, that's for mentioning me and best wishes from jolly old England 👍😎Pete 🤓. By the way, your title only has psychedelic highlighted as opposed to #Psychedelic60sgroupbuild2025
I went to shave the trim off the Galaxie, for racing, and only managed to take of one door handle before stopping. I just couldn't do it. These Galaxie s have got some of the nicest trim live seen on models. Luckily,in Europe there is a pre 65 touring trophy, which seems to allow most trim,so I've just deleted the fender top trim inserts
Nice! I remembered that I have a book on Dream Cars...I wonder if there's more pictures of the Astro in there since it was part of a Ford display back in the day?
The Astro was built by Bill Cushenberry for the Ford Cudtom Car Caravan, of which AMT was a sponsor. AMT Spokesman Budd 'the Kat' Anderson refused to fly commercially, took the car as his touring vehicle for a year, drove it 90000 miles before a management change at AMT ended his employment. I knew Budd back in the '80s when he lived in San Diego.
Beautiful job of pointing out all the details on the sprues Trevor…other hobbyist UA-camrs should take a lesson! Totally off-topic…any chance that Monster Hobbies could carry the X-Plus styrene figure kits? I know of at least one Canadian modeler trying to source them locally.
Thank you so much Justinplayfair. I am considering carrying the X-Plus models, but it will be a little later this year. Currently, my old store is gone and I am selling on the internet, but later this year I plan to re-open a new brick and mortar location and then I will get new stock for that location, and a new Monster Model kit section as well as other cool things. Wish me luck for later 2025!
Thanks so much for the reply! I think you’ll make many Canadian modelers very happy with the X-Plus kits. I hope the new store does wonderfully and best wishes on all your future endeavors including the Galaxie!
Thank you again! Yes, this time around I have a solid business plan. I just need to figure out some more details, like cost of materials and questions for the future land lord and some financial foreshadowing, and I will be on my way!
I know you weathered a lot with the old store…so much of it was out of your hands. Glad you’re regrouping, and I’m sure it’ll be a lot smoother sailing this time around!
I will be following your trip back in time.
Sounds good. Enjoy!
Thats gonna be AWESOME
Thanks for joining in😮😮
You are welcome! Glad you liked the video.
To boldly go where very few modellers have, into another Galaxie 👍😃🔭🚀
Yes...a Ford Galaxie. - Hope you can catch the video later today.
@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage I'm about to watch,Trevor. I hope you get the time to build something this complex🤞
@@petesmodelcarcustoms584 Thank you Pete. Thankfully we have 6 months to do so!

Thanks! I think it will look great.
Are you going to enter David? I hope to see your work too!
@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage I entered the first year of the GB, we'll see if I can combine GB for this one.
Cool! Do your best!

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe I have the recent release of this kit on my store web site now.

Thank you Pete, and I'll remove the spaces from the title to make it easier to find.

Hello again Rick. Thank you for the extra info. Did he still have the car, or did it stay with AMT?
The car stayed, probably either sold off by AMT or sent back to Ford and crushed. Budd said it was pretty tired after 90000 miles.
@@rickr442 That's too bad. Well, I'll try and make it live again...in plastic. Romantic plastic.
Alsome job
Thank you Alan!
