Ironically, vultures are one of the tankier birds, and they don't even kill their own food, due to being primarily scavengers. We even have a vulture pokemon in Gen 5 and it's a waller.
After battle... Blastoise: So, i did it Snorlax: You finally did my friend! Tirtouga: Honey! Im so happy for you! Pikachu: What did it cost you? Blastoise: My childhood friends
When they mentioned Rain Dance I knew Blastoise would own both of them, blocking the sun, no Solar Beam for Venusaur, and creating rainfall, weakening or dousing Charizard's flames.
Actually Rain Dance doesn't hinder Solar Beam. In fact that is the only weather manipulation move that has no effect of Veusaur, sure it could be argued the overcast would make Solar Beam take longer to charge but that difference is minute, since Blastoise doesn't have the speed to close the distance before Solar Beam could be fired without using rapid spin and that puts him in a dangerous position leaving him free game for all of Venusaur's highly effective grass type moves.

Flaming Hammers I understand your reference, but it is an insanely uneven fight. Both are poison types, and Gengar's additional ghost type makes him immune to a lot of attacks. Both pokemon at that same level,Nidorino stands no chance.
I've recently gotten into DB and I love Pokemon, so this video was great. I want to offer major kudos for commenting on EV/IV training and such because they are a really big part of the player's focus in game, and do push some things to a very real extreme.
Yup. Sleep Powder, Leech Seed, Giga Drain, Sludge Bomb. Sleep them both, Seed them both, Giga Drain the Blastoise into oblivion, and Sludge Bomb the Charizard. Over in a minute. People downplay the versatility of the 'Saur family.
11:00 Even giving Venusaur/Charizard the benefit of the doubt and allowing them access to Sunny Day, it would still be a disadvantage as one would be helping the other. Venusaur setting up Sunny Day means it would be boosting Charizard's fire moves, and Charizard setting up Sunny Day means it would be boosting Venusaur's Synthesis and allowing Solar Beam to fire faster. Nothing would be stopping Blastoise from just setting up Rain Dance again, either.
Nope both the other two using sunny day would actually be a disadvantage to Blastoise as now the other two have huge buffs and Blastoise doesn't, along with that Blastoise now gets a pretty big disadvantage in the sun with his water moves getting weaker, also Blastoise cant just use rain dance again when the other two could just counter with sunny day, and trying to spam rain dance when both of your opponents can just counter with sunny day isn't an optimal strategy, as again the other two could just use sunny day to counter the rain dance.
Even in 2022, Blastoise still would win. 99.99% of the Water-type learn Ice moves, so it can deal with Venasaur. Blastoise now learn Shell Smash. But Mega Evolution, Venasuar might be the best among the three cause of ThickFat.
@@threepunch5702 Oh, I was unaware of that. But sediment (the most common form of rock) has a much lower melting point than steel, so I have no idea why that is. Steel is honestly underpowered
I’m really surprised they haven’t done this for each generation, it would be interesting to see out of all the generations which type wins the most of the battle royales, plus it would be easy to research considering they would each come from the same game
Gen 4 and 6 would probably be the most interesting imo since the starters in 4 were designed to have secondary types and moves to stand a chance against their main type's weakness and the starters in 6 are the opposite with both type effectiveness against their advantaged match up. Edit: And the only ice move Empoleon gets from level up is Mist so Torterra doesn't have to worry about that.
Lets be honest, we all had our favorite. Deep down though, we all watched to see which died first to determine if our favorite would win. That's what this fight really came down to: the winner was determine on which starter died first.
No not really, blastoise can naturally learn any ice type move which both flying AND grass are weak to. Not only that but in terms of defense and special defense blastoise takes the lead, blastoise may be able to tank a super effective hit but the same cannot he said for Charizard or the veinasaur
Aww...I love Venasaur. To the Pokémon Center! Nurse Joy: Uhhhh... **Trainer shows wingless, tailless, and fireless Charizard, Bloodied Blastoise, and burnt Venasaur.** Nurse Joy: Just give me their Pokeballs...I think... Trainer: Alright. **Trainer shows burnt, broken, and overgrown Pokeballs.** Trainer: Here you go! Machine: Do do do do do do! Nurse Joy: Here they are! **all of them come out fine.** Trainer: Well that worked out just fine. no didn't it?
If I remember correctly I believe there was a cool event a long time ago in the soul silver and heart gold games where it literally rained rare candies, I have no idea if this is true or not but it's just what I was told
That's a good question. I would probably choose X because Y only gets really useful in double battles for the drought ability and moves like solar beam are not learned naturally.
How would thick fat make any difference? They said they even factored out type advantages/disadvantages so if their attacks are going on damage alone (attack and special attack) then damage types are nullified and thick fat wouldn't reduce the damage. Which also even with thick fat it wouldn't protect from Charizards flying-type moves. A rematch would be cool but this seemed like a fairly even fight when it comes down to it you can't question the math they did a great job with this one :)
They're all incredibly adorable with the Bulbasaur being the one I would want to be friends with. I'm glad the iconic fully evolved starting Pokemon won.
+Mayeur000Donz What I don't get is that flamethrower was in equal terms with a solar beam. They even showed in the beginning solar beam is about 3x more powerful than the fire charizard can make.
+Dan Wild Actually, if you pick Bulbasaur at the beginning of Red/Blue, you'll have a much easier time on the gyms. Doesn't apply to this video, but I'd thought I'd mention it
How Blastoise came to be, a giant turtle with water jet cannons, anime logic boomstick. Also has anyone else felt that wiz and boomstick should do some more starter Pokemon battle Royale to see different outcomes from this one.
Walter Valentim Nope! I knew he'd lose, but that doesn't change the fact that he's my favorite. I don't like seeing him die in the video, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna be salty about it. At the end of the day, it's just a game we play for fun. Just have your favorites, have fun, and let everyone else do the same.
I am a charizardfan.. kinda? I accept it as blastoise's win..... Who cares! It is just a video! NO need to fight! It Doesn't make sence that charizard didn't die instantly when blastoise used hydro pump.. Again... It goes trough steel...
Well, Groudon is screwed, he has nothing to hit Rayquaza effectively and is outright weak to 'Ogre- and in prescense of Rayquaza, Drought/DL won't help it either. Kyogre has tremendous SpD, which means, the only super effective moves Rayquaza has, Energy Ball and Thunder/bolt, won't hurt it much, outrage still hits harder. On the other hand, Ice Beam is 4x effective, and hits into 105/90 defenses... On the other hand, Mega vs Primal works the opposite way. Ray hits, kyo hits, ray hits again and kyogre is out. That lack of 4x weakness makes it.
@@kenshanparchman6838 ...Non-fire moves, the Pokemon are in natural state, no trainer, so no items. AND, in the battle, Solar Beam is used, and the rain wasn't up, bla bla bla, my point still stands.

Sam Gideon vs. Raiden
***** HAH, you obviously don't get the reference
Flaming Hammers I understand your reference, but it is an insanely uneven fight. Both are poison types, and Gengar's additional ghost type makes him immune to a lot of attacks. Both pokemon at that same level,Nidorino stands no chance.
I last watched it 6 years ago then today randomly remembered it so came back to watch it again.
(amazing video btw)
I've recently gotten into DB and I love Pokemon, so this video was great. I want to offer major kudos for commenting on EV/IV training and such because they are a really big part of the player's focus in game, and do push some things to a very real extreme.
99% of these comments are fanboys raging because charizard didn't win.
Suprisingly, i've mostly just seen people upset that venusaur didn't win
Nvm i scrolled down some more and found the little kids :D
+KinoFire LOL true dat
+KinoFire I agree with this
+KinoFire True, but i always choose blastoise in red/blue.
why does everyone hate bulbasaur
I love him
Me too
**snuggles bulbasaur plush**
That's not true in the show someone already took balbosaur so some hate some love
I love bulbasaur and even ivysaur, but venasaur just doesn't look as badass as charzard and blastoise.
Venusaur: Sleep Powder-> Leech Seed-> Synthesis = win. Especially 1v1
@@arsnotoria3755 yes exactly. People always make the grass types the weakest always. Venasaur is clearly the best starter in kanto. 😂
@@arsnotoria3755 Venasaur can´t learn Giga Drain nor Sludge Bomb naturally though...
@@levistokes3960 I mean grass is naturally a weaker type, just look at the type chart.

Even giving Venusaur/Charizard the benefit of the doubt and allowing them access to Sunny Day, it would still be a disadvantage as one would be helping the other.
Blastoise actually loses this fight when you take into account megas tms and hms.
The best offense is a great defense.
That was some Lao-zi advice
The 2015 Denver Broncos and the 2013 Seattle Seahawks definitely agree.
Wrong. The best defense is Shuckle.

As someone who usually picked Squirtle as a starter this battle made me proud of my decision.
It’s been forever and I still love this
Crazy how if venasaur was focused on blastouse it would have been charzard vs venasaur
But at the same time venasuar is kinda weak
@@ogbarney2038 Venusaur is the strongest of the bunch

+Mr Bacon I mean he does have them tenticals.......
1:08 so like you
No Because venasaur is liked for it Bill Cosby has become hated for it
Everyone keeps saying Charizard should win! But nobody ever says Venusaur should have won!
I know he shouldn't have, but nobody is defending him!
***** Nope!
***** I know :P
Blastoise blocks out the sun and Charizard burns him to a crisp. Venusaur would have no chance.
Jim Bobberson First comment....
Even in 2022, Blastoise still would win. 99.99% of the Water-type learn Ice moves, so it can deal with Venasaur.
Blastoise now learn Shell Smash.
But Mega Evolution, Venasuar might be the best among the three cause of ThickFat.
4:53 - That Talonflame really used flame charge on a water type in the rain, huh...wow
And its literally using it against the defensive blastoise lol
Pokemon logic: all of them can break steel. But they can't kill the Pokemon
Actually, venosaur never had these capabilities. Even charizard was only said to be able to melt rock, not steel.
@@Savagecabbage5158 I thought steel is more malleable than rock. So if Charizard can melt rock, then that means Charizard can also easily melt steel
@@Nepix24 malleable =/ lower temp for burning
Julian Steeves fire type is strong against steel
@@threepunch5702 Oh, I was unaware of that. But sediment (the most common form of rock) has a much lower melting point than steel, so I have no idea why that is. Steel is honestly underpowered
Magikarp would have kicked all their asses.

Magikarp is op
Prince Serenity
Bruh #MAGIKERPOP
Magikarp used Splash! It's super effective!
MeidoLazorZangetsuha Magikarp is splashing about!
@@6kourte650 Venusaur can take a super effective hit though. Charizard, eh, probably not, but Venusaur? Yes.
Aww...I love Venasaur. To the Pokémon Center!
Nurse Joy: Uhhhh...
**Trainer shows wingless, tailless, and fireless Charizard, Bloodied Blastoise, and burnt Venasaur.**
Nurse Joy: Just give me their Pokeballs...I think...

Trainer: Here you go!
Machine: Do do do do do do!
Nurse Joy: Here they are!
**all of them come out fine.**
Trainer: Well that worked out just fine. no didn't it?
I don't think a Pokemon Center could fix this one. lol
ssjup81 Well, that's the joke...
I want that amount of rare candies .-.
Dape_ 0321 its ossam
Just use the action replay
If I remember correctly I believe there was a cool event a long time ago in the soul silver and heart gold games where it literally rained rare candies, I have no idea if this is true or not but it's just what I was told
Panda I would evolve to something random..
For Real!? I remember doing that once. Was sorta fun.
Let’s go, finally some blastoise respect. It’s always just been Charizard, I’m glad my boy is the true champion.
Ripped wings off. De-evolution. Went back to charmeleon
I would love to see a rematch with all the Mega forms. Mega Venasaur gets thick fat which makes him more of a contender.
That sounds cool, but Charizard has 2 Mega Evolutions. Which one will fight?
That's a good question. I would probably choose X because Y only gets really useful in double battles for the drought ability and moves like solar beam are not learned naturally.
How would thick fat make any difference? They said they even factored out type advantages/disadvantages so if their attacks are going on damage alone (attack and special attack) then damage types are nullified and thick fat wouldn't reduce the damage. Which also even with thick fat it wouldn't protect from Charizards flying-type moves. A rematch would be cool but this seemed like a fairly even fight when it comes down to it you can't question the math they did a great job with this one :)
charizard x is a total killer
the other two wouldt even survive
+SilentK42 it wouldn't make a difference to charizard y maybe but charizard x flying type moves would be too weak to take mega saur due to its bulk
Poor venusaur and charizard :(
I would be more worried about venusaur.
Will Hubbard yea venusaur's death was saddish lol

I knew Venusaur would lose, but he'll always by my first choice for a starter.
+dragonforce525
I find him cooler, as of late. Just knowing that he can run, and dart side to side, makes him seem less sluggish.
+Mayeur000Donz What I don't get is that flamethrower was in equal terms with a solar beam. They even showed in the beginning solar beam is about 3x more powerful than the fire charizard can make.
Me too,i like venusaur
Smart players pick Venusaur.
+Dan Wild Actually, if you pick Bulbasaur at the beginning of Red/Blue, you'll have a much easier time on the gyms. Doesn't apply to this video, but I'd thought I'd mention it
This was my first Death Battle, it's always nice to come back and see where I started
How Blastoise came to be, a giant turtle with water jet cannons, anime logic boomstick. Also has anyone else felt that wiz and boomstick should do some more starter Pokemon battle Royale to see different outcomes from this one.
I'm the only Charizard fan here who understand and accept that blastoise won?
Walter Valentim no i accept it too
Walter Valentim Nope! I knew he'd lose, but that doesn't change the fact that he's my favorite. I don't like seeing him die in the video, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna be salty about it. Another Pokémon Battle Royal idea: Groudon Vs Kyogre Vs Rayquaza
Ahhhh, its so hard to choose
Note: None of them need a trainer to use Primal Reversion or Mega Evolution.
Yeah, I was thinking about Primal Vs Mega
Yep, what The Squid Kid said, Water Spout Groudon, Ice Beam Rayquaza.
The animation has improved since I’ve been a fan since 2015
I do like coming back here every now and again

Blastiose Sp Defense is actually pretty high.

So very true
Still doesn't change the fact that Squirtle fans won't be seeing their turtle fighting again in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U. #teamcharizard
Kevin Jacoby They may still include squrtle and ivysaur, or at least an evolved form of them. We won't know until the game comes out.
Chase Randalow Another Water Starter after including Greninja?... Not likely. Maybe the Bulbasaur/Ivy/Venusaur might make it, but Squirtle is going to be held back by his trainer and not evolve in Brawl.
Chase Randalow Besides, Squirtle/Blastoise's chances of coming back as a fighter is as likely as Ridley or the Yellow Devil being playable as of now.
This is the first death battle I ever watched.
This got me into death battle
It's funny because in the competitive, Venosaur is by far the best of the starters.
These are not competitive / meta versions. These are wild, untrained Pokemon who only have access to their natural stats and move sets via leveling up; no HMs, TMs, or outside stat modifiers used.
@@HalfDemonInuyasha he’s just saying it’s funny because venasaur is the best one in the games
