HAHA, Grandpa got the only veggie knife? Tell him I sent him a box from Amazon that is supposed to arrive Monday and it has three more Fiskar knives in it to use. I love this channel and tried to think of something useful. Dan from Ohio. He can now delegate! One for Matt, one for Andrew, one for Daniel. "Get cutting boys"!
You 3 Ochs brothers are the Trifecta of farming. You're all good at everything but to me it seems that Matthew is the brains, keeping stats etc., Daniel is the hands, can fix anything and Andrew is the heart that sees a bright side to it all. Together you create a perfect balance. Your mom and dad did well! Thank you for taking us all along.
Years ago an old farmers wife taught me a trick I use with corn. Put a bunch unshucked right out of the field into a brown paper bag and put them in the freezer. Then in the dead of wnter you can shuck them and put them in boiling water and have corn on the cob in February. I rarely manage to make it til February. LOL
Be down to see ya probably Tues, I stopped at your market last year, met Grammy, Rhonda, Aunt Becky and Joel and Brian. Still haven't met any of you boys. We live 4 hours North West of ya in McKean County. By far my favorite you tube channel. Wife has a conference this time every year in the Poconos, so I get to stop by and also hook up with my college roommate in Shickshinny. You guys have an amazing family....
Hi Andrew, and whanau. I've been following your channel for quite some time now. You guys are so amazing. Your vegetables looking so gorgeous every year. The hard work and dedication you boys put in, and facing all the challenges that comes with the job,it's just phenomenal. The girls and granny also do their jobs. I'm from Zew Zealand, Auckland. My name Lorraine Rangi.
Callie is really a farm girl. I love to see her eating the veggies in the field. So many kids don't get that experience and hate their veggies. I see the Ochs farm being run by Callie in the future. I'm surprised how much I enjoyed watching your hay bailing process. Keep it up, boys!
I'm so glad your Dad was able to harvest the wheat. He's like a little kid driving that combine. Also, a couple of times, I think Daniel was aiming those bales at you, Andrew! You always have to watch out for the quiet ones. Thanks for the great video with a Joel and Petey cameo.
Born in 1949 I remember the first harvest with a kicker. It was 2 huge alfalfa fields beside a river. Yes, it was easier on my muscles but that dust got me good. I was down for a week and a half and it was tough on me. I was 10 maybe 12 and I still remember my body struggling to spit it all back out. My Papaw just burned the extra fuel by not making us stack the wagon ( in the alfalfa hay ). We just waited at the barn for him to bring the wagon ( one 1953 Super C tractor farm ).
The family is so very busy! I was hoping nobody got hit with a bale by accident...and that a foot-ball style helmet would be a valuable thing to be wearing under such circumstances. May God protect all of you!
ti... how fun. Mom grew up in PA. moved to AZ for grandmas RA. AWESOME place for me to grow up. I love AZ. But mom knows exactly where the Veggie boys are. Love & prayers for ALL. God bless. Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister 🙏🏻
It tickles me to see your love for the farm AND work. It is amazing all you do as a family. THANK YOU for sharing with us. Many of us wish we could do that.
the barn has a LOT of loose straw on the floor of the loft. couldn't you use all that? for the stalls or something? have seen every one of your vids. love them. i remember when callie was sooo tiny and you'd be walking around holding her against your shoulder. she was so small, you only needed one hand, and she made that one hand look so big. how fast they grow. keep up the good work and thanks for letting us get to know your great family.
Hello Veggie People 👋, that's what was missing, the squeaky sound of pickin' Corn! Petey, what's up😊. Ol Pop Pop looks great up in his big harvester🎉. Whoo Hoo Wheat is done! JO JO IN VT 💞
I was eating beef stroganoff for dinner when you signed off. It gave me a chuckle. I LOVE harvest time! There are so many cool things going on and you really get to understand just how much machinery farming requires; even more so the need to be a mechanic on the fly. Loved seeing the bales getting tossed by the machine right up to where you were sitting/standing almost as much as I love watching the cabbages being tossed. There's just something beautifully artistic about a cabbage flying across the field. Love watching you guys pick up speed now that there is more sweet corn to pick and less that has to be left to finish growing. Still love the girls with Callie in the opening. It's a great pick-me-up going into the evening. Thanks for all the wonderful video coverage! 😊
I never picked the amount of cabbage that you Veggies do but I was taught to grab the head with both hands, twist and push down at the same time. No Knife required.
Nice wheat harvest! So great to see how these enormous farm machines work. I grew up in Los Angeles so no farm for me. Glad to virtually see how farms grow and all the various work you all do! Kudos to Bryan for his management and for all who work in the store, kitchen, and on the farm and in the greenhouse.
Great video! I get so inspired to cook veggies for dinner after watching all of you harvesting produce. I think zucchini and rice and broccoli are in order for dinner. Thank you for sharing your world. See you in the next one.
When you grew up in a very rural area and were around stuff like this, watching these videos brings you back home and makes you feel so good. I miss stuff like this a lot! Thank you so much for these amazing videos! You all are like family to me. : ) Curious… If some of the straw would have gotten pretty wet from rain, can you keep turning it to dry it out enough to still bale?
We're watching a previous video couple minutes ago, I had what I think was a light bulb moment. I think you said that they are called Cole crops? Is that like when we make coleslaw
Maybe if you get a couple of those air puppet things to put in the field it will scare the birds. They are tall and jump around, don't know if they are run on electric or not. Just an idea. Love watching the combine working
I was prepared to watch your video today! No more drooling looking at your corn. Made sure to have some to nibble on while I was watching you work! Pitching square straw bales is A LOT better than pitching hay bales! Light as a feather although I don't know how you can do it without gloves on. My hands seem to fill up with straw slivers without.
Wow the labor intensive part of farming! Making straw. Whew. So glad you guys avoid sunburns. If I’m out more than 5 min I look like a lobster. Massive burns that put me out of commission for a solid week. Whew! ❤❤❤❤❤
Hey Andrew, there is something else growing on the farm that we have been missing! THE BABIES! This mom of two loves to see Callie and the babies and of course Lauren.
😂😂 watching you pick that corn…I freaked for a second thinking ‘is there going to be an a skinny grey leg going to come through that row of corn’ ahhhh! Signs! You ever freak out like that???
Ya'll are probably too young to remember the days of detassling by hand. Farmers would put help wanted ads in the local paper for help. I remember all these "city kids" coming to my Grandpa's one year. They all had dinky shorts and tank tops. One guy was wearing a "half shirt". They were excited to make some money and get a great suntan. Well, needless to say, they were miserable. All cut up, rashed out, sweaty, sticky, and buggy. Only ONE KID came back the next day (out of 10)! AND he came back in JEANS and A BUTTON LONG-SLEEVE SHIRT! 😂😂😂 Man, those were the days!
'Bout time you got a haircut. 😁😁 On my corn, having grown it for the last 30 years, you just kind of know. If it looks like a football, it's ready. if I'm in doubt, I pinch the top of the ear and if I feel a kernel pop, it's ready. Wheat is cut! 10:33
That's true, but how do you tell the difference from sweet corn to regular corn and all of them look the same to me. Love, what you guys do is so cool.
HAHA, Grandpa got the only veggie knife? Tell him I sent him a box from Amazon that is supposed to arrive Monday and it has three more Fiskar knives in it to use. I love this channel and tried to think of something useful. Dan from Ohio. He can now delegate!

Petey is so sweet. When he's not working at his place, he's helping the veggie boys or joel 😊
Glad to see Petee again. He is such a nice young man.
I love that all the farms look out for each other. It must be a wonderful community that you live and work in.
Callie is really a farm girl. I love to see her eating the veggies in the field. So many kids don't get that experience and hate their veggies. I see the Ochs farm being run by Callie in the future.
I'm surprised how much I enjoyed watching your hay bailing process. Keep it up, boys!
Perfect cure for sweet corn addiction . Have someone shoot bails of hay at you. Love watching all the stuff you do on the farm .
Please don't forget to thumbs up the video! 👍🏽
You're the best!
@@theveggieboys no, you guys and girls are the best! 😁
Callie just keeps getting sweeter❣️She’s a little FFA for sure!
Loved when you would put all of the baskets of veggies in the bed of the truck.
Another wonderful video. Andrew your glass is always full. You are always so positive! Thanks for sharing life on the farm.
Look at those slick camera moves! You’ve come a long way Mr. Andrew. Such great tips on picking. Thanks for all the knowledge
So glad you could film some of the wheat harvest! I enjoy watching that very much! Thanks
Nice haircut Andrew😊
Thanks! 😃

Petey! Back helpin' in the videos! Enjoy the farm life. God Bless!
how about a show on what needs to be refrigerate and what doesn't and how long it last
The family is so very busy! I was hoping nobody got hit with a bale by accident...and that a foot-ball style helmet would be a valuable thing to be wearing under such circumstances. May God protect all of you!
We need to see more flying bales 😂😂😂

She is learning so much.
You guys are living the dream
Thank you for sharing those tid bits. I’ve learned a lot. The one you dad said about how to keep cucumbers linger. Perfect! It works!
I think everybody needs to have at least one day of hauling hay in the small bales like y’all are doing in that heat. Good job everybody
That square bailer was wild.
Those bails come out of there pretty quick. It's like playing dodgeball as a kid.
You are a trooper! In my opinion, you generally get the least fun jobs…but you’re always happy so hats 🎩 🧢 off to you
You guys are so awesome. All related and helping each other out. Thank you so much for sharing. Can't wait to see Grammy baking in the fall.
GOD BLESS THE FARMERS.🙏

It's beautiful to see the wagons full of hay. You all work hard but I know you enjoy seeing your accomplishments! Great job guys!

Callie is so adorable what a beauty
Thank you hardworking veggie boys and girls
Beautiful harvest. The hay looks great.
Looking forward to when you start harvesting, tomatoes, and peppers, my favourite to watch you harvest😃
I never picked the amount of cabbage that you Veggies do but I was taught to grab the head with both hands, twist and push down at the same time. No Knife required.
Could you go over the grain harvester and what you do with all the wheat?
Nice wheat harvest! So great to see how these enormous farm machines work. I grew up in Los Angeles so no farm for me. Glad to virtually see how farms grow and all the various work you all do! Yay! Petey's back!
Waving a hand from texas
Great video! I get so inspired to cook veggies for dinner after watching all of you harvesting produce. I think zucchini and rice and broccoli are in order for dinner. Thank you for sharing your world. See you in the next one.
When Andrew took off his hat I was nearly blinded by the shiny thing under the hat.

Hard hot working day. Great that you have a very large straw order👍👍👍

Yeah Petey's here!!!!!!!!!
Getting in to the harvesting.
Maybe if you get a couple of those air puppet things to put in the field it will scare the birds. They are tall and jump around, don't know if they are run on electric or not. Just an idea. Love watching the combine working
I love that square baler, like if you weren't paying attention it would whack you one! 😂
I am always looking forward to watch your videos! Enjoy every minute! Thank you for sharing.
Love the lessons !!!!

thank you! I love baling straw, always fond memories for me!
Awesome video 👍👍
I noticed that there were calves in the building you keep sawdust in, will you be able to get more sawdust in the near future?
Wow the labor intensive part of farming! Making straw. Whew. So glad you guys avoid sunburns. If I’m out more than 5 min I look like a lobster. Massive burns that put me out of commission for a solid week. Whew! ❤❤❤❤❤
My husband is the same!

You are like the goalie!
Hey Andrew, there is something else growing on the farm that we have been missing! THE BABIES! This mom of two loves to see Callie and the babies and of course Lauren.
Like most jobs on the farm, baling and stacking hay can be really satisfying! Ok, truthfully, I don’t miss stacking wagons at all!
God bless you all Veggie "Men"
Nice farming Vlog. Watching from Philippines
😂😂 watching you pick that corn…I freaked for a second thinking ‘is there going to be an a skinny grey leg going to come through that row of corn’ ahhhh! Signs! You ever freak out like that???
Watching from kenya. Lovely as always
When do we get to see Pete's new tractor?
The baler shooting the straw bales out is no joke!
I want to know if you all ever thought of selling your plants online? Great work! God has blessed your farm. 😄
Yes you are so right,, seeing the big machines harvesting wheat and bailing it. Wow so nice. Change your style of hat so the sun stays off your neck.
GOOD JOB!
That bailing machine is cool
The flowers are beautiful.
Share and help the channel grow!
Wow, this video was an 'as usual' = super informative! Thank You Very Much !!!

Looking good
