Working on Allan's chord changes is the best way to (get humble) and fire up your ability to improvise musically, rather than technically. You made a great demonstration on this point. Good to see more and more people involved in working hard on his wonderful music.

It’s weird, I think this is the first time I’ve seen you make some moves that you didn’t seem 100% certain on. It’s fun to see people at your level working on stuff they aren’t totally familiar with yet. Solid work, man, I’d love to see a second go at this when you’ve had more time to feel out the progression.

    • @bassheadjazz2708

Well said. UA-cam culture can make it seem that even lesser known musicians are just that good, they dont see the practice, multiple takes and (most often) studio magic that occured to make the video.

I'm waaaaay out of my comfort zone here, there are a couple of cringe moments for me here but also some pretty good stuff, and I thought it would be cool to post a little raw and honest work-in-progress video for my followers :) I love this tune so much and I'll definitely play it a lot more, maybe some day I'll post a new take :)

Mad respect, from another long-time AH fan and player, extra props for giving your own take on the track, which is honestly exactly what AH would have said to do (don't play *me*, play *you*)! For proof, research what he told Jamie Glaser, when JG found himself in the position of taking over AH's spot in JLP's band in the late-mid 70s and JG was a bit panicked!

I am a huge Holdsworth (RIP) fan and you sound awesome playing one of his tracks. It's cool for normal guys that you think you actually struggle with anything! Please do some solo music, that would be an instant buy for me.

There couldn’t be a better guitarist for Scar Symmetry! I can’t count how many 5am trips to work I’ve had just blaring your solos. I’ve had people come up to my vehicle and ask me what band I’m listening to. Nothing like a coffee and some of Mr. Nilssons guitar wizardry to prepare you for the day. Keep up the amazing work brother and have fun doing it.

You're right, it's definitely one of Holdsworth's more melodic and musically accessible tunes, but still has amazing solos with enough of his uncanny playing all around the right notes without hitting any of them. Atavachron was the first AH album I bought and still my favourite! I hope Per uploads a full rendition of this one.
