Her attitude was stellar... I was a goal keeper forever ago as a boy up until I quit it in highschool.. I wish I had been half as talented as Hope.. Seriously, and I wasn't a slouch...
These girls deserve a hero's welcome home. Hope Solo, daughter of a homeless veteran, got seriously injury and still mananged to come back and make it big. She's a role model. I'm not American, but it's impossible not to fall in love with these girls.
I'm a goalkeeper aswell and for me this is really inspiring. I broke my collar bone and fractured my wrist and I thought that it was tough to get back after 12 weeks of sitting out. I cant imagine what she went through after all that surgery and trying to get back into the game. I'm Irish but I am rooting for USA in the FIFA Womens World Cup Final tomorrow and I hope someday, to be as good as her and as much as a role model to other people, like she is to me.

I feel like she left everything on the field today, and it sucks that we lost, but Japan did deserve it. I also don't know what it is about her, but I find her so attractive.
Hope and the rest of the ladies did an excellent job. In my eyes they did win the World Cup. They attacked a lot just couldn't convert to shots to goals. But great effort! Hope is my favorite player, not only is she extremely beautiful, but I really admire the confidence she has in herself. I'm so glad she won best goal keeper. That says a lot about her. U.S.A female soccer team, made me feel proud to be an American! Great job girls!

@Sersoke Goalkeeper injury. 150lbs of weight driving your shoulder into the ground for 10+ years can do accumulative damage. Hope's was way worse than they thought when they started the surgery, but they repaired it and she beat the odds and came back early from rehab to play through the pain with the help of cortisone shots. Golden Glove in the WC and not even at 100%. She's a beast. It still hurts her and it will likely be something she just has to live with from now on.
@Tedsta101, because the goalkeeper of Brazil moved off the goal line before they kicked the ball, and the goalie HAS TO stay on the line until the ball is kicked. Then we got another shot, and made it :)

I get so sick of the "choking" responses from people who only started watching soccer because of the hype of this World Cup and how kickass US was playing.They dont know the rules, dont know how hard and tricky certain positions are, but are suddenly experts on the game. USWNT played a strong game and for it to come down to penalty kicks is hard, its never a sure thing and goalkeeping on penalty shots is never as easy as it looks, that goes for Men & Women
She's got a very nice name (Hope) and she's very pretty too. She was one of the main reasons for passing to semifinals. I'm sorry for Brasil but the USA girls are very good too and never gave up. Thumbs up!

We brazilians (stupidly) think soccer is our 'possession', n we don´t admit we're not the best. But she's such an example to any people, first 'cause the injury n the recover n then the amazing match against Brazil. I used to be pro volley player n I know what live with pain means.
