Wow @ 9:32 Lets give a huge shoutout to Mother Nature parting the clouds for almost the ENTIRE path of totality just in time (with the exception of Deep South TX & West NY sorry guys). I drove up to Arkansas on eclipse day from Tyler, TX and Just 1-2 hours after totality I was driving back home to Tyler, TX from Arkansas through the WORST rain and hail storm I’ve ever driven in. Had the weather just swung an hour or two in either direction TSE 2024 would have been completely ruined.
2:40 Correction, it’s a myth that the two discs are apparently the exact same size which leads to TSE. During a TSE the moon is sometimes as much as 18% larger than the disc of the sun. Think about it. If the two discs were exactly the same size totality would last exactly zero seconds.
unfortunately just a little outside of the totality. Just a little............ I remember as a kid in the 70s I saw it and didn't full appreciate it fully at the time. Not to mention we were only able to see it looking at paper and a pinhole. I just found out the next totality for where I live will be in 2200. Hmm might be missing that one. Guess I will have to just go with a partial eclipse in 2028
Did you get to see the eclipse? Where did you watch it from?
