I was totally floored when I heard that he had passed. And so,so saddened. He wasn't just an actor..he wrote, and i *think* he directed as well. If you want to see him on the big screen, watch Secretariat,he plays Secretariat's groom. If you look at a pic of the man he's playing, the resemblance is stunning, and his performance was amazing.
I'm a lesbian, and he had *me* fooled while he was playing Lafayette. I honestly thought he was gay. Then I read an article he sat for for The Advocate, where he revealed he's straight. *that's* an actor.
Lafayette was right about one thing..they never do change. Being in a relationship, gay or straight, means you're an adult, and adults, male or female, don't put their hands on the ones they love in anger. People with domestic violence issues forget the rule they teach you in preschool..keep your hands to yourself. I'm not saying don't defend yourself, but there's defending yourself, then there's beating the ever loving shit out of someone. This includes women putting their hands on men..it's just as wrong. I've had guy friends who were domestic abuse survivors whose gf's beat them, and I give them the same advice I give women..get out now! Let them change for themselves and their *next* partner..let the first time be the last time. Love doesn't hurt!
@@ishtarbabylon4869 even worse is the fact that its now already been 3 years without nelsan ellis who played him. I hate to say it, but i miss being younger.
R.I.P. Nelsan Eillis (Lafayette)... You were a great actor and will be truly missed...Gone too soon!!!

Nelsan was hands down one of the best actors on the show! He was so talented and he was taken way too soon. Rip🙏
I love how protective Lafayette is to Tara :)

Yeah, Eggs hit her trying to get to Lafayette.
That's right!! He's my favorite character on that show. I'm dying for the new season to begin this spring!

For my MUSHUS 🐉
I'd eat that Egg LOL :D
WHY do they ALWAYS have to hit women on this show? Seriously, do they have some sort of fetish?
this was back then. half of the characters that do it are creatures, they don’t have human sensibility anymore. and also it’s just a show
Absolutely. Season 2 was a turn on lol
Ummmm reflection of life. Lots of men hit women
the fact that this was posted over 11 years ago really really fucks with me, i swear
Likewise . Feels like yesterday
