fun fact that actual reason why the panther 2 was scraped and only because some decided to weld plates onto the side of the tracks of the panther fixing the problem that the panther 2 chases was going to solve. there was now no need for the new chases, and a turret was never built leading to the panther 2 idea being scraped

The actual Panther II that(used to be) in the game though is based on a completed hull now kept at a US army museum. A Panther G turret was added for display. IIRC the actual turret and gun it would have used was unknown. It might have been planned to just use the standard 75mm L/71, but knowing WW2 German engineers they probably would have tried to add an 88mm. If the 88 was used, it would not have used the in game turret because it would have been too small, so it probably would have used a completely new turret. Also, if my memory is working correctly today, the Panther II is completely unrelated to the E series.

I'm still waiting for Gaijin to add the BRDM-2 to the game, as there's multiple variants they could add. Such as the standard model with the 14.5mm HMG, various ATGM carriers, a Polish model armed with the ASRAD-R system, and many more.

All the other ground vehicles they added were just copy paste tech tree vehicles made into premiums that they only put a couple decorations on. But yeah, that 10.0 """top""" tier vehicle was why gaijin didn't add more and its definitely not because it was an air focused update.
What BR would the stock BRDM-2 be added? It has a single KPV HMG, where the BTR-152A has two and a BR of 2.7. If I saw Cold War armor at 1.7 or 2.0, my mind would break. I can barely tolerate the Concept 3 in low tier already.
It needs to be banned or completely replaced. It never existed in real life, even as a paper tank. Gaijin could replace it with the "Panther mit 8.8 cm Kwk 71" (which is partially responsible for this mess in the first place) in a patch without charge.
@@petergray2712 Or Gaijin could make it's mind if it wants to introduce fake tanks or not, and in the same way the playerbase could make it's mind about allowing them at all or not, in this very realistic game where a hodgepodge of tanks and planes fight with no infantry or naval support. I don't really care in the end, it's a fun tank to play, that is all it needs to be for me to want it in the game. Also not only do I not see how that specific variant could fix the issues with the breach mount, but it was also not in service, turrets where never made iirc. People need to make their mind if they want a tank sim or a game.

Ah the Panther II, by far one of the most fun tanks I ever played and by far one of my all time favourites.
