My philosophy is "when in doubt, dig it out".

I love mine. When i was watching your video and your detector showed 95 I said "quarter"! and thats what you dug. mine is a quarter magnet. 95 are almost ALWAYS a quarter.

by the way, thank you rib for showing what the detector reads before digging. I have yet to find gold on mine and it's nice to see what it's reading for everything.
some guys just show the dig, or the beeping but not where the knob is on Tesoro or what the screen says in this case.

Tesoro went out of business, but I still have my DeLeon and other Tesoro detectors. Wouldn't trade them for anything. Great detectors. Maybe just maybe the Giffords will decide to open up the company again or someone with the dough will buy the company and get it started again, but who knows. We can only hope.

@@theoldbankfisherman No not of word. They told me one of the Gifford brothers wanted to be a chef and start a restaurant, and the other, I think it was Vince didn't care anything about metal detecting. I think it was their father who kept it the company going and after he died, they just slowly lost interest. Wish someone would buy the name, dyes, and intellectual property and start the company up again, but somehow I don't think it will happen. I got six Tesoros' and will probably keep them until they stop working or I stop working which ever happens first. Love the Mojave and Cibola the best. They're both turn and go detectors and great for tot lots.

@@horseman528 I love my Tesoro. I have two Lobos. I’m wondering if the Delone can work at the beach? Wet sand.

@@theoldbankfisherman DeLeon has a fixed ground balance. I would imagine it would probably work ok in the dry sand, but I wouldn't want to get it out in the lake or ocean because the control housing is not waterproof. All it would take is dropping it one time in the water or a big wave and there goes your detector. Great detector though.

@@theoldbankfisherman This is just my opinion and it doesn't matter one way or the other, but if I were you, I would look at the Fisher F22 or F44. Both of those detectors are rain proof. You can't dunk them in the water, but you can safely use them in the rain. Plus the ground balance on the Fisher F44 can be adjusted to whatever ground conditions you're in while the F22 has a preset ground balance like the Deleon and cannot be changed to differing ground mineralization's. I think the F22 is a lower price but not certain as to how much it cost. The only drawback to owning a Tesoro is that if something breaks down or wears out, there are no spare parts or anyone to fix them anymore.

hey, I know it's an older video, but just an FYI, when you see the "^^^" in the other areas not reading a graph or blank that also means lift coil. when it actually says it, that means it can't process at all but when you see those carrots it means it can process but lift for more accurate processing. :-)
    love my Deleon

Hello Rob, Ive been using the old Whites DFX for sometime would you recomend the Compadre over the DFX? Over the years i have found some good coins and rings however I've never found any small rings with the DFX. The DFX has so many paremiters to adjust i'm wondering if I'm missing a lot of good stuff. Please any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

They made some great detectors, but I don't think they're coming back unless someone with a lot of change wants to buy the dyes and intellectual property from the Gifford brothers. That Lobo S.T. was a great detector, especially for hunting gold.
