What I like about this song, is it's not necassarily about Superman. This woman is broken, and she's waiting for someone to come and save her from situation. That's unlikely to just happen but she's hopeful and that help gets her through it. Superman is the perfect fantasy because not only is he literally a hero but his whole thing is how kind and gentle he is. Anyone with half a crush on Superman can relate to Lois in the movies. No matter how horrible life gets, this kind, superhuman person will be there to look after you and save you when you need it most.

I also have schizophrenia. My symptoms started when I was 9. It’s been almost 20 years. For me, it gets easier to manage. At first, it’s horrible and scary. But after a while, it’s just another part of your life. I hope your daughter can adjust. ❤️

Most people can only say it'll be alright so many times before they start to doubt it, so have someone to help you remember. I love the fact that this song is about a woman waiting for her man. Lois waiting for Superman. It's the eternal archetype, the fairytale that is akin to human kind, the yin waiting for yang, the material aspect waiting to be awakened by the spirit. I love that they didn't write a song about the woman going to him or not waiting for him and just moving on, they kept the legend and didn't try to modernize something that doesn't need(and actually shouldn't) be modernized.

Always taught me the best lessons in life and his tattoo is the Superman symbol. This song helps me find the comfort and beauty in his passing with the ability to remember how incredible he always was
My interpretation of the song:
About a girl who's breaking down, still hoping someone would come and save her, tell her that she's worth it (like all those other girls that have heroes, that she's worth going through all that trouble). She's trying to cling on to the hope that someone would come and save her, because she can't handle it anymore and it's only a few before it becomes too late.
But somehow, I think she knows that he won't ever come to save her seeing as the emphasis on the way she smiles. (It can be taken in another way, since it was never said how, but this is how I interpret the smile) So I think she smiles in a way that she just can't do it anymore. Like she's already oh so tired and defeated.
Then again, this is just how I interpret this.

I always cry when I hear this song because I just sit there and think 'I'm tired of waiting for superman, he's not coming." And it hurts. I'm a writer on Wattpad and I'm writing a story about a girl who has everything, but she is falling apart inside. In one chapter I've yet to post she goes and sings this song in a pub before running out in tears. When she gets home she goes to her bathroom and tries to cut herself when her best friend bursts in and wrestles the blade from her. She starts to cry, "I'm tired of waiting for Superman, I'm tired of dancing with strangers, I'm tired of falling apart! He's not coming! He's not coming...." he just holds her and looks into her eyes and goes, "I'm here. I may not be superman but I'll take you anywhere. And I won't let you get hurt! Especially not by your own doing!"

This song has so much meaning to me. Back in 2014, I lost my grandmother and this was the first song I heard on the ride back after seeing her barely alive for the last time. My grandfather passed 2 years prior, and he was the Superman to come and take her away. He took her pain away. Every time I hear it, I cry. ❤️

"She's talking to angels..." That part always gets to me. I lost my best friend/big sister in a house fire 8 1/2 months ago. I know she happy in Heaven now, and she's my angel. I know she may not hear me- I don't know everything about Heaven and angels. But I do know that when I 'talk' to her, it makes me feel better. So I will continue to talk to my angels until Superman comes in and saves me.

Very good point. Sometimes I think I'm being dramatic or something because I am still grieving and still cry and miss her a lot. I will always keep her in my heart- she will never die a second time. Thank you- I needed that.
