I may not have grown up with Fabuland, but I can definitely see the appeal. It's definitely one of those more cozy sitting by the fire drinking hot cocoa kind of themes and I'm here for it.

Man I wish my music teacher was as passionate as you. Mine just half assed his way through the curriculum. I understand teaching is hard especially for high schoolers or middle schoolers if you are American but you could always tell when a teacher didn’t care. I had an English teacher that was constantly on our backs for mistakes, home work, etc but she was honestly my favourite teacher because you could tell she was genuinely concerned with what we were learning and if we actually took it in. I ended up reading Shakespeare plays in my own time because I wanted to show her that I was taking it seriously.
Sorry for the rant but the way you explained stuff took me back to school.

Thank you for sharing this with us Slugger! I love seeing a relatively obscure piece of music like this get the appreciation it deserves, and your enthusiasm is always a pleasure to listen to!
A while back I worked out the guitar version of an old kid's show called 'spider!', nice little piece. Another that's always stood out to me is the outro to Stingray, never tried to work that one out though

  • @Rick_the_Fox

Slugger... I stumbled my way into your channel(s) because I saw Rock Raiders... I stayed for the man who just has such a nice way of displaying his passions.
Your videos radiate a sort of simple giddy passion for lego, music and photography and it is wonderful to listen to you.
Heck, I clicked on the original Fabulant video (like others before) with the idea, I don't care about this series and enjoyed most every moment of the video.
So all for all, I hope you will keep slugging around😊
I am vaguely planning on one day ordering and building the Rock Raider game MOC's, and if that time comes I am adding a few little bricks to make the LEGO 31139 Cozy House slug in your honor!
(oh and I really love your 'oresome' music piece, really hits the vibe)

The Cliché is to say that Jang is LEGO Bob Ross, and while no comparison can ever really be 1:1,1:2 or even 1:28 when comparing different people's artistic expression, if I am going to indulge in that bit of internet reductionism I think Slugger feels like the Joe Pera of this silly corner of the internet. He's just got such an infectious way of teaching you all about whatever he's interested in a way that just makes you so invested in any subject he chooses.

This is super cool! I kinda forget you teach music for a living. Personally, while the deep LEGO lore videos are interesting, maybe you could do some more music content on this second channel. I write music myself and transcribe a bit (because my music taste is a bit niche and it's hard to track down the original songbooks from the 80s). I would 100% watch more music theory vids and behind-the-scenes of how you write the music for your videos!

WOMBLES! Commenting as an English person here, Mike Batt is well worth a bit of a lookup. He's been involved in a wide range of projects, but looking at them, nothing seems to have reached the Americas.
His work for The Wombles may be interesting to a music teacher though, as it's intentionally genre spanning.
He launched Katie Melua, and arguably Vanessa Mae, and did the music for another children's cartoon series which far outclassed the actual programme!

I find it fascinating that Fabuland had a TV series and perhaps surprising that it was claymation rather than simply using the established and available LEGO toys to make it especially as Fabuland figures do have that slightly more articulate design over a standard mini figure. Anyway this was great to see how you broke the music down and remade it in an Animal Crossing style, I know your primary work is musician before even LEGO Guy so seeing your creative process in your music is very appreciated.
