Thanks Jeff! I’ve been a HUGE fan since 1979, saw you with Holdsworth in the original IOU gigs which literally changed my musical life, and I’m still coming to grips with. As a guitarist, I’m not a great reader, and a bit intimidated by the great Slonimsky. However I intend to change that, thanks to your demonstration. Again, thanks and God bless
This is extremely valuable advise Jeff. As someone who has had music, bass, in my life for many many years. I feel like I would be a better player had I committed to such an approach and now at 51 I'm spending lots of time, when I can make the time, to play catch up. I'm trying hard not to get discouraged and go back to my old habit of getting so far and not pushing through. Thanks
Absolutely correct. Be OK with sounding bad on a new exercise. Practice it for three or four days and your playing improves.

2:49 Love Slonimsky!
as a 61y male who has been playing bass for over 44 years, what i want to know jeff is, how you have still got great hair?
I assume that someone somewhere has created midi files of the Slonimsky material. Any idea where I might find something like that? Thanks!!
The "modern style" is all broken out like that.
You have to learn notation no way around it .
