Oh Heidi, this made me cry. What a wonderful tribute to our beloved Mr. Dressup and a lovely nod to Dad.
I had the pleasure and meeting Ernie Coombs in the early 90's when both he and I were presenting student awards at Centennial College. He was presenting an award named for his late wife. I told him that he and I went back to Butternut Square; the pre-cursor to Mr. Dressup. What a thrill. He was such a nice man and not too different from his character.

Just watched the documentary with my German husband who only knew about Mr Dressup because of me. Just loved it. Cried all the way through. And my husband liked it a lot too.

That is so incredibly wonderful and what an inspiration to have! Being on the border and not having cable of the 2.5 channels we could pick up with an antenna 1.5 were Canadian and ickle! me always found Mr. Dressup so endearing. sweet nostalgia!

This was a fabulous review, and I loved this Doc!! Mr Dressup was a childhood favourite for me. I guess I must have started watching it a couple of years after it began... maybe 1969. Like you I'd watch the Friendly Giant too. Both of these shows were so quiet and thoughtful and creative. Mr Dressup was so good at drawing and making things.... and he was such a nice person. They depended on the viewer using some of their imagination. I never forgot these two shows. Every time Ernie was in the news I would remember him. The day he passed away, CBC did a long piece on him.... and we realized what he was to us.

Such fond memories from my childhood. Loved Mr. Dressup and Finnigan but always found Casey to be a bit creepy.

I love mr dress up! Im one of those Dads that says “hey kids watch this i use to watch it!” Sometimes they like it sometimes they don’t 😂 but Mr Dress Up was one they liked ❤
