BOTH JESUS AND BUDDHA WERE INSPIRED BY JAINISM WHICH WAS WIDESPREAD IN INDIA, ANCIENT PALESTINE, AND NORTHERN EGYPT. BUDDHISM IS AN OFFSHOOT OF JAINISM. Gautam Siddhartha (Buddha) followed the practices of Digambar Jain monks during his 6 years of searching (see MAJJHIMA NIKAYA). He studied under Uddaka Ramaputta who was a teacher of Jainism mentioned also in the Jain scriptures as well. Buddha’s “Middle Way” was basically a protest against Jain monastic practices. Buddha’s uncle Vappa was a Jain according to Buddhist scriptures. Buddha got a lot of his terminology directly from Jainism, such as Nirvana, Samyak, Arhat, Jina, 5 vows, etc. Buddha was born and raised in an area of India where Jainism was strong (foothills of the Himalayas). Also in the MAJJHIMA NIKAYA, Buddha says that he used to believe the same things that the Jain monks believed. Buddhist cosmology copied some major aspects from Jainism including Mt. Meru and ring continents. The list goes on.
But you are not Jain and American at same time , because Jainism is most peaceful ideology on earth and America name based on billions of people's messacre
I have been contemplating non-violence and wondered if nonviolence can also be a form of violence in the light of not acting to prohibit violence? Or does Jain's philosophy value one life equally to that of 50?
@@123581321341 ever heard of Indus valley civilization? upuntil now there is no proof of any violence proof in indus valley civilization and they used to preach jainism.
Exactly... Do you sit back and allow evil to prevail because of non-violence. Does a man not protect his family to follow non-violence. There is a famous saying that goes: "Great force (great strength) will even defeat the Buddha"

I am a big fan of the Jains. I am curious as to why laughter is considered to be a defect in Jainism. I can’t find any answers online. I wonder if anyone can help clarify this? 🙏🏼

A very unbalanced extreme practice , religion and belief system.... The Buddha said correctly that the middle way is the correct way. Extreme asceticism is not the way. And having no views is impossible because the practice Jainism is to have a view... anyway... it is what it is.
I love Jainism 🙏
Om namah siddhebhya
Well good on them. They have good values , the other religions should learn something
Much... Much to learn.

Here the role of Dharma comes in play. You will find Jain kings and ruler who had done violence because they were doing their dharma.
