First of all definitely not Lubin. Lubusz is a province (voivodeship) in western Poland. Lubusz is not German! The name derives from the West Slavic tribe belonging to the Wielecka group or transitional between the Polish and Wielecka groups, living in the 10th century in the area on both banks of the lower Warta and middle Odra , with the main stronghold in Lubusz, which after the WWII, as a town situated on the left banks of the Oder River, remained in Germany under the name of Lebus. Lubusz Region and Zielona Góra (current capital of the Lubusz Province) is famous for the 700-year tradition of wine making in that part of Europe.
