Thank you very much for sharing this.During WW2 my dad in law read a book to pass the time while aboard the U.S.S. Wakefield, and a main character of the book was a lady named LERRYN !He loved the name and decided if he ever had a daughter, she would be given that name.He kept his word and when his future wife had a daughter, she was indeed named LERRYN, which is a VERY rare name, indeed! It is so nice to see where the name actually came from...Thank you so much.
Now that is an interesting story! So glad you could catch a glimpse of Lerryn. We will be returning to film the south side of the river and pay a visit to the Ship Inn, Sarah :)
Another fabulous video, thank you Sarah & Andrew. We just love your creek-side walks and Ethy Woods adds to the charm. It looked very enjoyable for your furbabies too.
I bet your furbabies would love the little creek! We dissuaded them from the sticky creek - never know how deep the mud is! Andrew would not go out and rescue them without lots of fussing! Sarah :)
The tractor museum was an unexpected delight! They had so much to look at, just a bit dark to film and our cameras struggled a bit. Glad you enjoyed it, Sarah :)
What a beautiful place the church looks out of this world. The woodlands looks gorgeous can't beat chestnuts and holly. The dogs look like they are loving it. The lake looks gorgeous. This definitely somewhere tig and me will have to visit thumbs up x
The doggies don't follow the walking stones very well. LOL! Chestnuts!!! We do not have those in our area at all. Beautiful old church. American Pickers...fun show! Such a treasure trove there! Dogs are so funny! *Groan* . That joke! Nice that the cows don't notice you. The mill was neat and confusing... The reflection is really great! Thanks for bring us along!
You seem to find some lovely places off the tourist tracks. Thank you for sharing. Have a good weekend and enjoy the late Autumn weather. Greetings, Julie.
Hi Sarah and Andrew. What a peaceful part of Cornwall, love walking next to water, the sea or rivers you can't beat it can you. What a lovely little surprise to find a museum and somewhere to have a cuppa and a snack, nothing nicer when you're out walking. How old are your boys, they always look like they are having so much fun on your walks, I think the black one enjoys Andrew carrying him over the stiles, bless him, they both look so smart with their bandanas on, always love to see them. Thanks again for another nice walk, love autumn and all the colourful leaves too, hope you're enjoying your weekend Bets
Hi Bets, Our black and white dog is 11, a little bit blind and deaf, and he is not able to jump over the styles like he used to but he is such a good boy when Andrew carries him over! He just sits there, tale wagging, as if he knows we are helping. He tends to follow the chocolate one - they are great friends! I made the bandanas - we were bored with our selection! Glad you enjoyed the walk! Sarah :)
Well your boy may be a little bit blind and deaf but he certainly enjoys life doesn't he, they seem really close like brothers, really nice to see. You should go into business making bandanas as they look very professional, we noticed when we were in Cornwall how many dogs wear them, really popular, love them, hope they have Christmas ones. Look forward to your next video. Bets
Hello Sarah and Andrew! The weather seems seemed to be rather mild for your walk , we have had quite the wintry mix the past couple of days ,everything from freezing rain to snow to sleet lol. But I absolutely love it, puts me in the Christmas state of mind🎄 So great to see the precious fur boys ,I hope you have a lovely weekend and some fun as well, sending happiness your way, Lori
Hi Lori, you sound excited about Christmas! Our weather is more wintry now, with temps of about 9-12 degrees C. The wind is from the east and hats and gloves are needed! This was filmed only a couple of weeks ago though, when it was much warmer! Sarah :)
Thankyou Sarah & Andrew.💐💐💭🤺 The Video is wonderful for me to see. I have known St. Winnow from the mid 1970's. I used to stay in one of the cottages( on the left hand side before the church). The family who lived there helped farm the land. I eventually married a niece of theirs😍 Just Sharing alittle local gossip. 😀 A Very Very Special place for me. Side note... Did alot of "Fluking" their? 🤔 Thankyou Again.. 💭🤺🐬
@@CornishWalkingTrails. Thankyou for your reply... 👍 A Special Place indeed. Lovely. You Know. 👌 Just so... You know. 'Fluking". Away of catching flat fish. Walk out into the channel of the River Fowey or any River. With a Handmade tool. Looks abit like a garden rake, although, where the spikes are become parallel to the handle. Then.... Start slowly walking in the Channel, stabbing the river bed. It Works.... More a fluke than knowledge... 😁 Have shared your videos... Hope to see more... Curious, as I know.... a couple of places, that, I can't see you have found yet😊... Nick... 💐🐬
Hi Sarah and Andrew, another lovely video. This is one of my favourite walks, so beautiful and peaceful, and lovely to stop for a picnic where the Lerryn river meets the River Fowey. Have you ever walked on the other side of the Lerryn river? Hidden in the woods are the remains of some old pleasure gardens - the Tivoli gardens, built in the 1920s I believe. You can see the overgrown remains of ponds and fountains, it's a weird place! Lerryn has a wonderful pub too, the Ship!
Sarah & Andrew, a lovely looking walk with loads to see and all presented with a wealth of information. Loved how you married up the book description to film from the church and the farm museum looked pretty cool. And of course loved all the nuts ;-)
What a wonderful video, the woodland walk is a super sight. You certainly know howto show Cornwall at its best. The Tractor Museum was really informative. Keep on with the films, they are a delight to watch.
I saw the MARS candy bars...... The old tractor displays looked like a fun place to explore. Andrew was a horse carrying the rider over the hurdles. Another great and informative video you two. Great job. Now go have some ice cream.👍
I have spent some time in this church yard , waiting to film the clay trains on the far bank. Again , many thanks for filming and showing this fantastic area.
Oh really, that must be wonderful footage! I remember the wagons in Lostwithiel station and the road to Par was always a little bit grey with the clay dust, Sarah :)
My father was evacuated there (St Winnow) from London during WW2 and he went to school in Leryn. My Gt Grandfather is also buried in the St Winnow Churchyard.
Oh! what a restful video, beautiful scenery as usual and it really beats me how you don’t get lost so well done guys. It really was a lovely film and the Tractor museum was a real bonus. Informative as usual and most enjoyable. Those Doggies are such stars, but, they certainly know how to get the best out you both. To sum up.....wealth of information and a beautiful location.
Lovely walk with you again among the woodlands and view of the river bank :) did you find some Roman coins ? i would be so excited getting down and dirty with my metal detector there ..the old church could hide some treasures also cheers Dave and Myriam

A burst of energy from a Mars bar can make a walk a lot more enjoyable! Too cold for ice cream, we need to come over to California! Sarah :)
