Gonzales Sehako Hi Gonzales. I think I missed seeing this question earlier. Anyway, to answer your question, finding employment generally is tough, however, it can be easier if you have a tech degree and most importantly, spend some good time preparing for interviews, because just because you have a tech degree, it doesn’t guarantee the job. Also, when you’re looking for companies to apply to, Google, “software development companies in ‘your city’”, then spend some time looking through the links that pop up, then for the companies that interest you, go to their ‘contact us’ section and send them a message to let them know that you’re interested in applying for a junior/graduate role at their company. I hope that helps:)

Hey dear, I do CS in my diploma certificate and love programming but due to current trends where many more are rushing to become programmer without going for 4yrs degree cert is really discouraging to me I need your help because I feels like switch to CE that's much expectations of staying ahead like basic coding, AI, robotics, creation of micro chips, with understanding of both hardware & software.
Make sure you know what are you want to become. You can't just swap to CE then do a job that purely on Software because it will put you in a disadvantage compare to people who does CS. Do more research on it and not because many people get into software engineer without a cs degree doesn't mean it worthless. Know what you need.

Yes, that is true. You don't need a 4-year degree to become a programmer. If you are interested in it and enjoy it, you could focus on doing side projects that showcase your programming skills and core computer science knowledge.

I'm on fist denior Years and have yet to get to college. Im stuck between CS or CPE? For my first plan is Computer Engineering. If I pick CPE what should I focus on and prepare on? Tips and tricks? And things that i should know first? Need a mentor or a any person who have experience it first hand.
If you want to get a high paying job with the least effort, go into CS. CPE is great too but it is so much more work. I enjoy the electrical side of computer engineering which is why I like CPE, but some people hate it and just end up getting a job that you could’ve gotten with just a cs degree. However, one would argue CPE is more valuable because it’s much easier to teach yourself the software skills using online resources and much more difficult to learn the hardware online. However, the requires a lot of motivation and accountability to make yourself learn the software stuff by yourself online.

These courses would certainly help with lower level understanding of computing to where working with FPGAs would be child's play.

PETERJEAN1 yes, it was. In a way, it was good because it exposed me to different areas of Engineering and I could make a more informed decision on what my preferences were and where I leaned more towards.

mardileen hi there. Yes, definitely - a computer engineering degree will help you in a career in both those fields. If cyber security is your main interest, on top of your degree, try to look out for cyber security focused certifications and even better, work towards a job in line with that interest. A certificate in that particular field can show that you took that extra initiative and it can also show a future employer that you are truly interested in the field.
