Just for the record the whites are the Samba OG which was designed as more of a street style and the black are the samba are the actual samba indoor soccer shoe. You can tell the difference in many ways but at quick glance is the tongue.. The long tongue on the black pair are meant to be folded over to protect the laces while playing soccer. Most people find the tongue uncomfortable but there's many videos to show you how to shorten the tongue and it takes literally 2 minutes no cutting just unlace and relace. When you look at the soccer version you can also tell that the toe sticks up a little more and that's because it's made to kick soccer balls. They're not exactly the same shape as you'll notice the OG has a slimmer profile. I like the soccer version but the only reason I didn't keep them it's because I noticed that the upper on the soccer version is actually synthetic.. That is not leather on the upper of the black Sambas.. If you get a black pair of samba oh geez like the white pair you have then the upper is actual leather. It's all good though because you have two different styles of samba and not just the same style in 2 colors. Also the soccer version with the long tongue, the black ones you have are more comfortable than yhe Samba OGs because they are actually meant to be used on the field. If you just try them on side by side you can feel the difference in the arch support and the cushion of the black version. Also slightly heavier for obvious reasons. Oddly enough if you get the white version of the indoor soccer version the upper is leather.. Weird. As for the Superstars I don't wear those simply cuz as a 57-year-old black woman myself I feel like it makes me look like I'm trying to hard. IMO dor me Superstars give off the old lady trying to look young vibe wearing her athletic wear. I grew up in New York City in the '70s and '80s in Queens blocks away LL Cool j, the run DMC boys, etc and everybody was rocking those superstar Adidas except me because my mother refused to just buy me things that were in style.🙄 I love the Sambas and a couple of pairs of Converse Chuck Taylor ('70s version for comfort) because they don't make me look like you're trying too hard with a simple pair of jean cut of my choice.
