Our top load washer is wildly dancing all over the place during the spin cycle. Although the 4 suspension rods seem like new and not damaged, the damping grease is almost gone. Upon very close inspection there is no sign of wear whatsoever. Can you give me some advice on what to do besides replace the rods? The manufacturer is asking an outrageous amount of money for replacement parts. Thanks 🙏
Hi Brian - I think you have diagnosed the problem. A top load washer has to be able to have the drum "oscillate" freely. I have seen machines where the grease on the pivot dome has gone away, usually due to age or water infiltration, if the dome does not pivot freely all that vibration from the load will be transmitted to the base & the machine will dance wildly across the floor. I would bet that if you lift up the drum / pivot dome,, get lots of grease under there & you will have solved the issue. Good Luck!! Hope his helps Daryl Pospisil
