Dorian is that gay bff who knows when to retire so that you can flirt with your crush.
Before the relationship stage, my Inquisitor flirted with both Cullen and Dorian, even though I knew going into it that Dorian was gay, because I just love how their interactions in that context make it look like Cullen is jealous of Dorian and they're competing over the Inquisitor. I feel like Dorian knows damn well how Cullen and the Inquisitor feel about each other, and is totally trolling Cullen.
Dorian trolling Cullen is even funnier if you consider that knowing Cullen, he probably doesn't know Dorian is gay because the guy essentially teasingly flirts everyone lol Even after getting into a relationship with Cullen I still pick Dorian's flirt options as I like to imagine my Inquizzy and Dorian have that kind of relationship (plus Dorian's responses to anything you say is always the best lol)
Dorian and my inquisitor are essentially best friends! I even have a headcanon that when she has her children with Cullen, Dorian is their children’s godfather. What’s more is that my inquisitor essentially named her oldest child after Dorian too (Alina Doris Rutherford)

Even before I saw this series of videos I tried 2 options: "play fair" and "let him win". "Cheating" is not my option morally. SO far I loooooved the end of the option "let him win". He looks at her like he knows how lucky he is and there are much more expectations inside of him.

Very late so you probably know anyway but after this there is a letter on his desk from his sister telling him she tracked him down again at Skyhold and that it's not hard for him to write to her. I think he also brings it up in conversation later as well.

I've played the first part of "before the dawn". After I talked therefore with cullen. After that I talked again with him and got these scene. Maybe you need to do talk with dorian and make his quest too. :)
