    Great video! Does the clock spring fix your horn you didn’t test the horn?

  • @gr2262

    What if my radio controls and voice command buttons don’t work? NO airbag/SRS lights and cruise buttons work fine. Could the clock spring still be the culprit? I’ve already replaced the radio controls twice with other ones and still won’t work. I want to know or get an idea before I get into doing this. Thanks, I have learned a lot from your videos, by far the best instructional videos on here,

    Question, a mechanic replaced my clock spring for free after messing it up during a transmission swap, now for me to drive straight the steering wheel angles a slight notch to the left.
    I'm willing to adjust it myself by making sure wheels are pointed straight and loosening/retightening the bolt once steering wheel is properly aligned. A puller tool wouldn't be necessary since it's just an adjustment right?
    I would take it back but worrried something else will get messed up, I use my car for my work (delivery) and also do a lot of my own repairs. But new to this particular one.

    Nice and very educational video, I came here because I´m been told that replacing this clock spring my horn will sound again, every time I lock my car with the alarm coming in the key it horn indicating that the car is locked it, but while I'm driving the horn is not working when I push the airbag as normal use of horn, any thoughts?? sorry for my English isn't my mother tongue. all the best and hope you can reply to me!!

    I have a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid and both the inner / outer steering wheel don't match what's shown in this video (and I haven't been able to figure out how to remove the clock spring from the cluster - no obvious clips or screws that release it). Do you know if certain Civic models have the clock spring integrated into the steering wheel cluster (turn signals, etc)?
    I also looked in the pdf of the Haynes manual and couldn't find anything about the clock spring.

    I own a 2005 Honda Civic (EX SE 2 door), what would prevent me from installing the clock spring and steering wheel of a new car in order to get the wires and controls that a newer car would have?

    What is the function of a clockspring? How do you know when it is defective?

    • @muffinlion6299
      @muffinlion6299 5 років тому +8

      It give power to the air bag in the steering wheel, your horn and all the controls in your steering wheel. All those are disabled if it breaks. You'll know when that stuff doesn't work, you get a airbag light on the dash or your horn only works when the steering wheel is turned
