- This is a video of my initial reaction to Ateez's 'Killing Voice' perfgormance. I hope you all enjoyed watching the video for the first time as much as i did. Super dope concert, great rapping/ singing and a super clean performance from beginning to end. This was a 10 out of 10, highly recommend.

Hans, you haven’t even scratched the surface of how disrespectfully amazing ATEEZ is. I suggest dance practice vids and live performance stages for any (all) of your fav songs by them. You think their music videos and vocals are good, wait until you see them perform. The stage presence is immaculate. I’ve been a fan since they were KQ Fellaz and I get mad like you every time I watch them lol

In order, left to right, it's Jongho, San, Wooyoung, Yeosang, Hongjoong, Yunho, Mingi, Seonghwa. Official rap line is Hongjoong, Mingi, and sometimes Seonghwa. Jongho is lead vocalist. Set list, in order: is Wave, Bouncy, Pirate King, Treasure, Answer, Say My Name, Fireworks (I'm the One), Deja Vu, Guerrilla, Eternal Sunshine, Utopia, Turbulence, Fever, Empty Box, Crazy Form, Work, and The Real.

echoing what everyone is saying - grab yourself a ticket to their tour, you absolutely won't regret it. they have this theatrical quality that they bring to the stage that leaves you engrossed and incredibly entertained.
Vocal kings, dance kings, performance kings. I would recommend when watching the MV's to also watch the dance practices to see how good the choreo is, and how well they dance/perform
[long-ass post, it's what I do] First, thank you for loving our ATEEZ. When you show this much attention and affection for them, it warms my ATINY heart. Second, every single member of the group sings, dances, can rap (though it's usually Hong Joong and Mingi, and in Bouncy it's Seonghwa also), so they're basically all aces in one group. They all have solo videos, too, and during the last comeback made unit videos in 4 groups (MATZ, Youth, IT's You, Everything, for reference).
To answer some of your questions: you're in luck because with the exception of Fever and Empty Box, there are MVs for all of the songs they performed here, though Utopia has the Japanese version versus the Korean one as a video. Their debut in 2018 was the one you couldn't read, 해적왕 (Pirate King), which has a performance video and was a double title track with Treasure for their debut. Both videos were filmed in Morocco on the cheap, and random trivia is they're returning to Morocco to perform at one of the world's largest festivals, Mawazine, in a couple weeks. They average 2-3 comebacks per year, so they have a pretty big discography, which produces videos like this that don't even cover all the songs they have MVs for or where title tracks! Wave and Illusion were siblings in 2019, for instance, and they didn't do Illusion. They haven't done it for a while, but they used to let ATINY (their fans) vote on which of two songs would be the title track.
All the details: They're known as performance kings, because their live performances sound and look great, and they're ridiculously stable while dancing, so standing around like this is muuuuch easier than their concert performances. Most of the random moves you commented on were their choreo (6:46, 11:26, 12:51, 13:14 is iconic choreo at left, 17:31, 24:41, 38:41 bunny Seonghwa!), and they have dance practices for most of the songs here. 7:44 Yep, main dancer, Yunho. Tallest member, golden retriever, vocal range you could see here, and our energizer battery. 8:03 Jongho, our baby bear, the youngest and the main vocalist (duh) isn't angry; he scrunches up his nose to perfect pitch and notes, which he's stupidly good at hitting. He usually is looking directly at the camera when singing, too, which can feel intimidating. He's actually very sweet, soft-spoken(ish), strong, and low-key funny as hell. The point at 8:51 is to ATINY, his treasure. Awww. 9:39 They're great together as a group and as random combos. For instance, when Yunho takes Mingi's hand (5:08), Mingi's literally singing "take my hand, take my hand." 10:43 goes with the lyric that speaks to raising your glass above your head. 13:40 is Bulnoriya (playing with fire, or Fireworks is how it's styled for searches). 15:53 Production team is solo artist EDEN and team members he's formed into an in-company group called EDENary, which has added and removed members as they've been available and for particular projects. Both Hong Joong and Mingi write their own raps, and Hong Joong is often involved in song lyrics, production, and/or music. 16:40 Hong Joong and Seonghwa just did an interview with Super Junior's Donghae and Eunhyuk which was fun. Pretty people eating food and talking. :) 12:26 Yep, you should be scared. Worth it! Watch the video, and a performance, maybe from their Coachella appearance, week 2. 21:35 our Princess Mingi _does_ sing, yep! More rarely than the other members, but he can, and does. Recommend his solo, Tunnel, for a rock-inspired anthem. He's the second tallest member, and he and Yunho are besties for like, a decade. 26:54 They really do have a no-skip discography. While some songs may not be your cup of tea, there's no denying the work, the love, the talent that went into every.single.one of them. Pick any album and listen through it in order, since they are designed to be heard start to finish, and often have intros/outros that set the mood. 27:15 with ATEEZ, any listen is at the risk of falling more in love with them. Sorry, not sorry. 28:17/29:40 Visual king Yeosang with his luxuriously deep voice is soooo good on this song, harmonizing in that low tone. His solo song is immaculate, btw. Also, his birthday is the 15th, and that's usually when they release solo stuff, so keep an eye out for that! 28:27 Turbulence is the only MV so far that doesn't have choreo in it, in case you were wondering how devoted they are to their dances! You'll definitely be more attached to this song after reading the lyrics and watching the MV. While it's their only "big" ballad, they often have a ballad on an album. 30:15 Yep, group Captain Hong Joong has often been compared to G-Dragon for his rap flow, fashion sense (he's a Balmain brand prince), and his appearance. 31:23 No software here, baby! Our maknae is the genuine article, and often busts out with this kind of note/run randomly, live. Watch him get his Brian McKnight on Lee Mujin's show. 32:02 Golden Hour is the start of their new era (Treasure, Fever, The World precede it), and includes Work as the title track along with 4 other songs and an intro. One of those songs is Empty Box. It doesn't (yet?) have a video, but we're hopeful. Empty Box is about the lyrics. It's so deep. I recommend a lyric video for it so you can see when the members switch parts and you can see how they sound doing the same parts (the "I'll never miss you"). 43:03 The Real was originally performed live on the final episode of the survival show Kingdom, and this version is closer to that than the MV version, which uses more of the Korean traditional instruments. Recommend watching the live version from Gayo Daejon (ua-cam.com/video/07AT6fLH1Gs/v-deo.html but you'll likely have to blur/cover it for YT) because of how much traditional costuming and stage performance it includes.

their performances are wild. it's probably what they're most known for: killing the dances while singing live (and even hitting all the notes while exhausted). they performed at coachella this year and I think that's also a great introduction to people new to ATEEZ

Their performances are extreme. They’re known for being one of the best performers in kpop and they even have their own demon line who changes completely when on stage. I recommend watching the 2022 KBS Song festival where they perform Guerilla
Ateez are known as the best performers in KPop!! All 8 are INCREDIBLE dancers and have some of the hardest choreographies. They also pride themselves on always singing live, no lip syncing!! You should check out a guide on them! Their studio versions are amazing, but nothing hits the same as watching their live performances. They bring an incredible energy that no one can match.
The UA-cam channel ofallthekenneys has the best guide on them. It’s a little long but it’s the most accurate and up to date! You really get to know each member and what they bring to the group. I also definitely recommend listening to their discography in order, including albums/b sides. They have really strong lore in their music videos/lyrics and they tell a story through each album series!

The low tone guy with the tims on (Yeosang) has some beautiful lines in their song Halazia which is my a favourite song of mine from them and it has an amazing cinematic style mv! Theres even a prologue and epilogue for it. I'm so glad you did this reaction to understand they literally have no bad songs and are amazing vocalist/rappers 🙊 Think starting from the beginning is good but some of their bsides are sooooo good (empty box for example is a bside from their latest album) so album reactions might be cool if you dont mind doing longer reactions! So you dont miss some gems. And you definitely need to experience their performances! And their solo works (special clips) on their channel... theres just so much to enjoy with them, but I'm going to enjoy your Ateez journey however you choose to do it 😊
Every song is amazing with Ateez. Layered vocals are my favorite. The ultimate guide to Ateez is highly recommended. It's long but worth it. And definitely check out live stages. They just did Coachella.

When you said that Hongjoong (one with glasses) sounded like a young GDragon, I was lowkey screaming because a lot of my Big Bang fan friends said the same thing! They're also both very into arts, crafts, and fashion AND are the tiny leaders haha
Also, the vocalist you kept praising (left-most) is Jongho and I swear he is INSANE. His vocal range and control is so amazing and he does sound as powerful even in live when I watched their concert. There was a moment where his mic wasn't working properly and his voice was still reverberating in the concert hall lol
I would suggest listening from their very first albums to the recent so you can see ATEEZ's range when you have the time
And this is just mainly their Title Tracks... Just wait until you listen to their B-Sides... Almost every one of their B-Sides are Title Track worthy and where they really shine. It is amazing how Ateez only has good songs and known to all, all are wonderful and self -astral, they are songs that give you chills listening to their voices live, which precedes in studio, jongho my dear, your vocal makes me levitate, wow. .. Funny you mentioned a West Coast sound. The members did a month of training that greatly influenced their sound. They also habitually take more lessons whenever they are in LA.
Empty Box is also my favorite song off the new album. I LOVE IT.
They are ALL dancers, singers, and most can rap although only 3 are official (Captain Hongjoong wearing the glasses, Mingi who is blond in the brown jacket, and Seonghwa on the far right that is a sub-rapper that did not rap here).
Although they are KNOWN as the performance idols due to their intense stages, most people don’t know how well they all can sing… although Jongho on the left is widely touted as the best singer in the 4th Gen of K-pop.
You must watch their performances… even if it is just a dance practice. Like Hongjoong says in his Answer rap... they treat each performance as a finale show. Guerrilla dance practice is sooo good.
I suggest watching dance practices with MV reactions when you can. Fans love to see reactors. Also, other than some Japanese content, anything on KQ’s or ATEEZ’s offical channels are pretty copyright friendly.
Guides: There are also fan created guides that are amazing. The Ultimate Guide to Ateez 2023 by ofallthekennys is the go-to guide(update in progress as a few sections are getting blocked and it is getting out of date but it gives you a great overview of these guys and their hard climb up the ladder). Another Atiny just made a great updated guide that no one has reacted to yet, so I am not sure if you’d run into copyright issues, but it let them post it. 1) their personal fashion has improved lol, as it does as one grows up (i been a fan since pre-debut and there's a few famous pics of their old fits within the fandom😭😂
2) )they usually don't style themselves for things like this. their stylists and them know by now (5 years in last fall) what kinds of styles and silhouettes they're most pleased in. for example, jongho (farthest left) prefers skinny fit and tapered pants and button ups with a top layer (or athletic wear). san (2nd left in black and white shirt) likes simple, tailored silhouettes, square shirts, and i think he prefers that for comfort but also because his shoulders are pretty broad and his waist small so a lot of his clothing has to be tailored or pinned. for more elaborate sets, his and a few other members' outfits will have interesting cutouts for ease of movement and to expose bits of skin. nice outfits!
wooyoung (black hair, 3rd in from left, leather jacket and bleached jeans) likes street wear, black clothing, and stompy ass shoes (theyre so fun) the most. yeosang (4th in from the left and wearing oversized denim shorts) likes classic cuts as well, but his are mixed with traditional korean // east asian silhouettes. often you'll see him in a jacket resembling the shape of simple hanbok or other older cuts. his pants as well will be wide fit but resembling shapes you'd see in a show with traditional wear. i think it looks nice. on stage he often has tapered pants.
hongjoong (rapper in the middle with cuffed denim) is one of the two members most daring with their personal thoughts on fashion and styling. hongjoong loves a classic tucked in shirt and tapered pants, but he also loves tartans, long skirts, stompy ass shoes, a cvnty boot, a hypermasculine coat... perhaps all in one outfit lol. in that vein, seonghwa (farthest right in black with sleeves pushed up) is the other member who is most daring -- daring meaning "outside of the notions of normative men's fashion for this time period"-- and particularly enjoys genderless and feminine fashions (often gauzy tops and sweater styles). he doesn't always wear that, and has particular ideas about how he wants to portray mood and his body on stage, but it among his personal preferences for his own closet. these mixtures really suit them. being public figures both adds scrutiny and also an element of freedom to dressing outside of how "a man" should dress. i hope they don't stop exploring so long as they are safe and it feels good! fun fact: seonghwa wanted to wear a certain YSL dress and cool ass heeled boots for his part in the crazy form mv (he said this in a live with yunho), but in the end he was concerned that it would receive too much criticism, so he went with his second option, which was still very nice. i understand his nervousness. ideally, we would live in a world where the comments would all be chill but... 🥴
yunho (shiny leathery pants) like san, prefers simple outfits, usually tapered or slim-straight cuts for pants. sometimes a blazer over top or a soft sweater. i think he, mingi, seonghwa, and hongjoong wear hats the most. he also likes hand accessories on stage-- little claws and rings or chains.mingi (bleached hair in brown jacket) tends toward flare or wide legs with interesting patterns. he and san have showed their abs or been "half-dressed" the most, but yeosang and seonghwa also have in the past. wooyoung once, to keep an old promise lolol. so for the members who more show their abs, they'll have a jacket in a flattering silhouette or a shirt that lifts easily. like a silk blend or something like that.
as for skincare. that's genetics and also the dermatologist lol

the guy in the black at the end and the guy next to him in black and while are the main and lead vocalists (respectively). they sound stunning together. they recently released a duo cover together of a song called dear name, and the harmonisation is beautiful.

I can't lie, this was kind of an overwhelming watch between the music & your talking, so I wish you paused to talk a bit more, but I understand if you don't have the time for that lol....I left a long ass comment on your WORK reaction full of recommendations, so this time I'll give you a brief introduction to all 8 members. Firstly, they are all born & raised in South Korea, and they debuted in 2018 with the 3rd & 4th songs: Pirate King and Treasure.

Choi JONGHO - 2000. main vocalist. maknae/youngest. Jongho originally had dreams of being a football/soccer player but discovered his talent for singing after being encouraged to join a singing competition with his friends (he won several of these!). At the age of 13, he decided to pursue singing instead of soccer and got casted into his first company, TOP Media. Jongho went through some hard times there between all the insane training and harsh comments about his voice changing due to puberty; however, this only motivated him to work harder and grow into the incredible singer he is today. He eventually left that company and became the 7th member to join KQ Entertainment where he would debut with ATEEZ. Now he is widely known as the best vocalist of K-pop's 4th generation as well as one of the best in the whole industry. Though he is mainly known for his voice, he is also an exceptional dancer & performer with a great sense of humor.
Choi SAN - 1999. lead vocalist. main dancer. Despite currently being one of the best dancers of the group and even contributing to WORK's choreography, San originally auditioned with zero dance experience. KQ saw his potential, though, and he became the 4th member to join the company. Through hard work and a little help from the strength and flexibility he'd gained from practicing Taekwondo for years, he was able to improve immensely in a short amount of time. Now, San is known for being a fan-attractor as his performance abilities practically boggle the mind and are so irresistible that many become fans because of him. If you go back and watch the group's earliest content, you might notice many things about San are different today, from his appearance to the way he sings. That first part is rather self-explanatory once you see him without a shirt on, but about his voice: how he used to sing + how high his parts were caused damage to his vocal chords, so he had to change his technique. If you happen to notice his change of tone along your ATEEZ journey, this is why.
Jung WOOYOUNG - 1999. main dancer. vocalist. In middle school, Wooyoung and his friends put on a performance on a school field trip. The excitement he felt there was like nothing he'd ever experienced in his 15 years of life, so he decided to pursue becoming an idol. When he became a trainee at Big Hit Entertainment, he realized everything was much harder than he thought it would be. He eventually decided to leave the company and audition one last time for another one. He chose KQ Entertainment because his friend and former Big Hit trainee Yeosang was there. When Yeosang asked him why he did this, Wooyoung told him that if he fails, he wants to fail with him, and if he wins, he wants to win with him. He became the last member to join the company, which caused some tension among the others who assumed the lineup was already set, but Wooyoung's irresistible charm won them over eventually. Wooyoung is known for this charm in addition to being a charismatic performer with a unique and high vocal tone.
Kang YEOSANG - 1999. vocalist. performer. visual. rapper. His parents wanted him to become a lawyer, but after seeing the group Highlight perform "Shock," Yeosang became fixated on becoming an artist like them. When he became a trainee at Big Hit Entertaiment, things were tough for Yeosang due to him only being a student who studied every day with no experience in the arts. But his hard work and undeniably good looks earned him offers from 6 different companies when he decided to leave Big Hit. KQ worked especially hard to get Yeosang to choose them, and so he became the 6th member to join the company. Yeosang is known for his warm, baritone voice, powerful performance abilities, striking visuals, muscles, and exceedingly gentle personality.
Kim HONGJOONG - 1998. captain. main rapper. vocalist. lyricist. producer. composer. Hongjoong's original dream was to become a songwriter, not a singer. One day, the principal of the music academy he was attending suddenly called Hongjoong up and tried to convince him that becoming a singer/idol was the best way for his songwriting to reach a larger audience. Not thinking too much of it, Hongjoong sent a CD of his demos along with a hand-written letter to KQ Entertainment (which they wouldn't open until a year later when they were clearing out their office to relocate) and they also proposed the idea of becoming an idol. The idea finally appealed to Hongjoong, and so he became KQ's first trainee. As the first official trainee and a producer, he was appointed the leader of the group, but we call him the captain due to ATEEZ' pirate concept. Hongjoong is known for his leadership skills, incredible versatility on stage, powerful high-tone voice, and his fashion sense. He is also the most proficient at English in the group.
Jeong YUNHO - 1999. main dancer. vocalist. Yunho loved music since he was a child and naturally wanted to become a musician. His family was skeptical at first, but when made it into the famous Seoul Performing Arts School, they began to trust his ability and pure love for music. Yunho was the second trainee ever to join KQ Entertainment 6 months after Hongjoong joined. Yunho also attended several dance academies. His skill in dancing and picking up choreography in record times has made him somewhat of an unofficial dance captain of ATEEZ. Yunho's cheerful and friendly personality has earned him nicknames like "Energizer/Yunhogizer" and "Golden Retriever." He is also known for his highly versatile voice and wide range that allows him to sing an interesting variety of parts.
Song MINGI - 1999. main rapper. main dancer. lyricist. producer. composer. From a young age, Mingi had an interest in becoming a ballad singer after watching Kim Jong Kook perform. His father was also a background dancer for 1st generation idols, so he was greatly influenced by him in terms of dancing. Mingi first became a trainee at Maroo Entertainment, home to his inspiration Kim Jong Kook, and attended the same dance academies as Yunho. The two have been best friends since high school. In fact, they both tried out for KQ without each other knowing and met at the audition. Mingi was the third member to join the company. He produces and composes for his solo projects as well as participates in making the choreography for his parts in ATEEZ songs. Mingi is known for his deep voice, unique dance lines, and explosive stage persona.
Park SEONGHWA - 1998. vocalist. performer. rapper. visual. eldest. When he was young, Seonghwa was pressured to join a dance club which he eventually became the head of. They performed on any stage they could, and he became popular enough that people from other schools would come to watch. In the midst of touring with the club, there was an agency that held auditions which he tried out for for 2 years but was never cast. As a senior in high school, he began attending a music academy where the principal suddenly gave Seonghwa a shot at an audition, no cost, because he saw his potential. He also told him of another student who would practice from the time the academy opened up until it closed. Seonghwa followed in this student's footsteps, and when he joined KQ Entertainment as the fifth member, he learned that the student the principal had been referring to was Hongjoong (it's destiny!!!!). Like Yunho, Seonghwa has a very versatile voice suited to a wide range of parts, but he originally auditioned as a rapper. He's been showing off his rapping skills more and more lately. Seonghwa is also known for his electric stage presence, sweet personality, and fashion sense.
Here's a fun fact to top it all off: Seonghwa, Hongjoong, and San are collectively known as the "Demon Line" because of how intense their stage personas can be lmao. When I say they're crazy performers, I mean that shit!!!

And yes, Ateez performances are the best in the Kpop industry rn, they are known as the kings of performances because of their face expressions and energy, live vocals and intense choreography, if you want to check that I’ll recommend you to start reacting to their Kingdom performances and their fans love those performances because many people started to falling for them because of it! Empty Box is absolutely my favourite song right now too. It instantly beat Halazia, Turbulence and Answer for my number 1 favourite Ateez song (those were my top 3 before, now all below Empty Box).
