    The Fitbit Charge 5 finally arrived (after pre-order) and I got to test it out for a few days before making this unboxing and review. As of right now, it has become my new fitness tracker over the Fitbit Charge 4 (which my wife is now using). What are your thoughts on the early functionality, and do you think any changes are coming? I know I'm excited to try out the Daily Readiness Score.

    Walk is one of the 20 exercise shortcuts you can set. You can't have more than 6, but if you remove one of the 6, you will be able to add Walk from the plus sign. Also, GPS can be enabled for the Walk exercise.

      Thanks, I added a correction in the description of the video for this. Once I removed one of the 6 the + button appears to choose the other options.

      Do they have a meditate exercise? I read another review that said the Fitbit confused it for sleep.

    • @SeanFlaherty
      @SeanFlaherty 2 роки тому +1

      @@GK-qc5ry You can add Meditation manually, but it is not among the 20 exercises that you can set a shortcut for. Yoga would be the closest I guess and that is among the 20. You can always track Meditation manually.

    Walk is on there, you'll find it in the settings on your phone. Weird thing is you can only have a specific amount of workouts on your phone at one time, I think it's 8 at the moment, but they offer up to 20 that you can change in and out, but Walk is certainly one of them.
    Edit: Walk isn't one of the initial workouts in order to add it you first have to remove a workout you don't want.

      Thanks! I added a "Correction" note in the description. You are allowed 6 at a time. Once I removed one of them, the + button displays where I can pick from the 20 exercise types. Thank you for letting me know.

    I watched another review that claimed the GPS tracking was very poor on the charge 5, can you provide what your experience has been with the GPS?

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  3 роки тому +1

      I'll have to run some more tests. I did a 2 hour walk the other day that seemed pretty spot on, but I wonder if it struggles with runs/bike rides. I did a Charge 4 one in the past but I can look to do something similar with the 5 in another video. Thanks for the suggestion!

    calorie count ... accurate or like other fitbits?

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  3 роки тому

      I'd say same as other Fitbits. It's nearly impossible to properly track calorie counting as your metabolic rate changes based on muscle mass, body fat, general activity etc. It also changes as those factors change so I wouldn't use any wearable to try and track it.

    I can't find the GPS map (just did a hike) or the temperature sensor.

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  3 роки тому

      The sensors for the EDA scan are just on the sides of the Fitbit and you place your fingertips on it while it counts down. For the GPS map, that should work as long as you start the hike and it can connect to GPS satellite through the device or your phone if you have it on you (based on what I've read). I do get a GPS map show in the app after starting a walk, run, or bike ride.

      @@GamerBodyI know the eda scan, but where is the skin temp?

    • @GamerBody
      @GamerBody  3 роки тому

      I only see the option when looking in the app. I think it is just tracking it with the standard sensor then putting the details in the app. Might need premium though.

    They took away the weather app? WTF? Does Fitbit think people don't exercise outside? And no guided breathing? That's a deal-breaker for me. I'll stick with my Fitbit Ionic.

    Does it track steps while driving a car?

    • @GamerBody

      Do you mean when having running active or something of that nature? It doesn't add any additional steps (or very few) when just sitting in a car. Not sure what happens if running is enabled while driving though.
