Have sewn many quilts with Kaffe’s fabrics…I was immediately attracted to his use of colour & pattern …..also had the pleasure of attending one of his talks here in Calgary several years ago…..

This is just one of the things I love about KFC fabrics. They all work together and meld between collections, years, colors, patterns and even the busiest quilt patterns can be can use a huge number of designs and still look perfectly at home.

I never tire of listening to Kaffe! He and his partners are so inspiring! I listen repeatedly to the same video and learn something new each time!

The artist describing his “painting”. Wonderful. Thank you.

This is so lovely and calm yet filled with surprises. I love to hear Kaffe talk about design. He does it so intuitively.

This was great, full of new ideas. I like what you said about creating a mystery and not being able to read a quilt at first glance. I think that is why I am attracted to and like creating crumb quilts.

Love it Kaffe. I also love listening to you and sharing your “little secrets”. Thank you. Liking that new black and white spiral coming out in August. I would have never thought to use a permanent marker to add dots😉

This is a very playful and unique design. These fabric collections (which I love and have so many of!) really make it work. Of course, the artist in Kaffe, loves to create designs to keep them looking fresh and new (along with Brandon) and his ideas allow him to experiment on so many different levels. He also has a fantastic way of describing their creations. Love it! PLEASE keep them coming!

I've had this same idea in my head since the first quilt I tried to make back in the 1980's but could never figure it out. Thank you so much for the great tips. I would never think to use a marker on the beautiful material. I'm usually very scared to cut and ruin the beautiful material. 😃

That is exactly why scrap quilts are my absolute favourites... all the fabrics I use sruprise, and however often you see them, they're always new. My granite kitchen counter gives me the same feeling, once in a while you see something in it that you've never seen before, or at least you think you never noticed it.. After 15 years, though, I'm sure I've seen all the surprises. Just rediscovery, I guess.

Thank you, Kaffe. The mind boggles. My yrs of sewing were with apparel and corporate at that. When I moved on to try quilting, I could not understand color and pattern; my work was creative in theme but quiet and dull--like a suit. You just changed that. I get it! I don't know how, I just understand. 🤗

Very interesting project...I love a collection of fabrics pulled by theme. Kind of want to stop everything and try this...or at least start the pull. Lots of goodies in there! love, k

Kaffe is using fabric as paint. I use fabric to make useful (not that his aren't) quilts. I have to stop myself and remember that I can be an artist, also. Just looking at this quilt, he's right about the tone of the b/w fabric, too bright. Most patterns he used are "greyed." He doesn't have any jarring colors. He has been doing this a long time, so has no problem using fabrics that "I would never put together." I'd love to go fabric shopping with KF!!

I have made a quilt top and thought of ripping it apart. I would love your first impression of it before I change it. Maybe I’m being too critical . Is there a way I can send you a pic of it? Thank you
